There are a lot of things that the people who are trying to turn all of America&#8217;s power &#8216;green&#8217; are either ignoring or unaware of.<\/p>\n<p>The article quotes an article from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2023\/02\/23\/climate\/renewable-energy-us-electrical-grid.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">The New York Times<\/a> posted on Thursday:<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><strong>PJM Interconnection, which operates the nation\u2019s largest regional grid, stretching from Illinois to New Jersey, has been so inundated by connection requests that last year it\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/archive.is\/o\/nmQTG\/https:\/insidelines.pjm.com\/ferc-approves-interconnection-process-reform-plan\/\">announced a freeze on new applications<\/a>\u00a0until 2026, so that it can work through a backlog of thousands of proposals, mostly for renewable energy.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><strong>It now takes roughly four years, on average, for developers to get approval, double the time it took a decade ago.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><strong>And when companies finally get their projects reviewed, they often face another hurdle: the local grid is at capacity, and they are required to spend much more than they planned for new transmission lines and other upgrades.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><strong>Many give up. Fewer than one-fifth of solar and wind proposals actually make it through the so-called interconnection queue, <a href=\"https:\/\/archive.is\/o\/nmQTG\/https:\/emp.lbl.gov\/news\/record-amounts-zero-carbon-electricity\">according to research<\/a>\u00a0from Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>So we can create all of the solar and wind energy we want, but if we have no way to distribute it, it is useless.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>On Friday, Front Page Magazine posted an article about the future of green energy.
