The world does not seem to be as safe for children as it used to be. There are adults in powerful positions that are supposed to protect our children that have in fact been putting them in danger. Some of the things our children are learning in school are not helpful for them and may actually be harmful in the long\u00a0 run.<\/p>\n
On Saturday, The Epoch Times<\/a> posted an article written by child crimes investigator Terra Avilla, 36, of the District Attorney\u2019s Office in Susanville, California.<\/p>\n The article notes three things parents can do to protect their children from predatory adults:<\/p>\n \u201cI would not let them attend sleepovers,\u201d she said. \u201cThis always draws a huge backlash, but after 11 p.m., there is nothing productive and good happening there.<\/strong><\/p>\n \u201cWhile I may trust the parents of my children\u2019s friends, I have no control over who else may \u2018pop\u2019 in while my kid is there. The friends\u2019 of their siblings, friends\u2019 of the parents, neighbors, etc.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n \u201cNothing good comes from this app,\u201d she shared in a video.<\/strong><\/p>\n \u201cPut all of their social medias on private and \u2026 refrain from talking to strangers on any social media platforms,\u201d she told the newspaper. \u201cPredators utilize fake accounts, pictures, even fake videos, phone numbers etc., to persuade young minds into thinking that they are their peers.<\/strong><\/p>\n \u201cOnce they feel like this \u2018person\u2019\u2014predator\u2014is their friend, they have groomed them into sending photos and other personal information.<\/strong><\/p>\n \u201cChildren need to know that an adult should never tell them to keep a secret,\u201d she said. \u201cAlso, children should be told that they can tell you anything<\/em>, and that no matter what anyone else says, you will love them no matter what.<\/strong><\/p>\n \u201cI have taken many heartbreaking cases where the perpetrator threatened to harm the victim\u2019s family, pet sibling, etc.<\/strong><\/p>\n \u201cThe victims are often told that the suspect\u2019s behavior is their fault, that they will go to jail if they tell, etc.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n In a video, she also shared, \u201cThere\u2019s a big difference between having a secret and keeping a surprise.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n There were also some other rules:<\/p>\n This is good advice for anyone raising children in today’s world.<\/p>\n \n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" The world does not seem to be as safe for children as it used to be.
