Their efforts were futile.<\/p>\n<p>As I reported in 2010 (article <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rightwinggranny.com\/?p=2140\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">here<\/a>):<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><strong>Informed sources are predicting that if the Democrat party loses the House of Representatives in the November election, there will be lame-duck session of Congress after the election to pass some of the legislation that the Democrats can\u2019t seem to get passed now.\u00a0 The logic is that since many members will have been voted out and thus not have to worry about being re-elected, they will be willing to vote\u00a0for some of the more unpopular bills\u2013Cap and Trade, Card Check, and tax increases.\u00a0 I suppose that is possible, but it really would be political suicide for the Democrat party.\u00a0 When I thought about that, I wondered why, even after the global warming scandals, the Democrats would still be pushing Cap and Trade.\u00a0 Well, I think I have my answer\u2013follow the money!<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><strong>There\u00a0was a very interesting article at the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.americanthinker.com\/blog\/2010\/08\/another_dem_boondoggle_on_life.html\">American Thinker<\/a>\u00a0yesterday.\u00a0 The article reported that the Chicago Climate Exchange is running out of money and laying off employees.\u00a0 What is the Chicago Climate Exchange?\u00a0\u00a0 It is a company that trades \u2018carbon credits.\u2019<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.americanthinker.com\/blog\/2010\/08\/another_dem_boondoggle_on_life.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">The American Thinker<\/a> pointed out:<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><strong>&#8220;The biggest losers have been CCX\u2019s two biggest investors \u2013 Al Gore\u2019s Generation Investment Management and Goldman Sachs \u2013 and President Obama, who helped launch CCX with funding from the Joyce Foundation, where he and presidential advisor Valerie Jarrett once sat on the board of directors.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>As usual, follow the money.<\/p>\n<p>Well, Cap and Trade is back. <a href=\"https:\/\/theconservativetreehouse.com\/blog\/2022\/09\/15\/legislation-within-the-biden-green-new-deal-inflation-reduction-act-has-created-a-domestic-carbon-trading-platform\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">The Conservative Treehouse<\/a> reported the following on September 15th:<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><strong>Deep inside the legislative language of the falsely titled \u201cinflation reduction act\u201d, aka The Green New Deal legislative vehicle constructed by lobbyists and passed by congress, people are now starting to realize a carbon-trading system was created.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><strong>Ultimately, a carbon trading system has always been the holy grail of the people who run the western financial system and want to create mechanisms to control wealth by using the \u2018climate change\u2019 agenda.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><strong>A carbon trading system is a very lucrative financial transfer mechanism with a potential scale to dwarf the derivative, Wall Street betting, market.\u00a0 Secondarily, such a market would cement the climate change energy policy making it very difficult to reverse.\u00a0\u00a0The new creation as explained by the Wall Street Journal, holds similarities to the EPA ethanol program.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>On September 14th, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wsj.com\/articles\/biden-climate-law-sparks-new-market-for-trading-tax-credits-11663155828?page=1\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">The Wall Street Journal<\/a> reported:<\/p>\n<p class=\"css-xbvutc-Paragraph e3t0jlg0\" style=\"padding-left: 40px;\" data-type=\"paragraph\"><strong>A brand-new market for green tax credits is taking shape as bankers and advisers figure out how to funnel tax breaks from energy companies that generate them to profitable corporations eager for smaller tax bills.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"css-xbvutc-Paragraph e3t0jlg0\" style=\"padding-left: 40px;\" data-type=\"paragraph\"><strong>The market is forming because Congress last month expanded renewable-energy tax credits and made them transferable in the law known as <a class=\"css-1h1us5y-StyledLink exk4ewm0\" href=\"https:\/\/www.wsj.com\/articles\/inflation-reduction-acts-real-climate-impact-is-a-decade-away-11661342401?mod=article_inline\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferer\" data-type=\"link\">the Inflation Reduction Act<\/a>, which also lowers prescription drug prices and imposes <a class=\"css-1h1us5y-StyledLink exk4ewm0\" href=\"https:\/\/www.wsj.com\/articles\/democrats-corporate-tax-plan-threatens-higher-bills-for-manufacturers-11659173401?mod=article_inline\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferer\" data-type=\"link\">new taxes<\/a> on large corporations.<\/strong><\/p>\n<div class=\"paywall css-1u1nl00-PaywalledContentContainer e1db8bjv0\">\n<p class=\"css-xbvutc-Paragraph e3t0jlg0\" style=\"padding-left: 40px;\" data-type=\"paragraph\"><strong>The tax-credit sales mark a shift in the U.S. strategy for attracting public and private capital to renewable-energy projects, and they will happen alongside existing <a class=\"css-1h1us5y-StyledLink exk4ewm0\" href=\"https:\/\/www.wsj.com\/articles\/carbon-removal-industry-draws-billions-to-fight-climate-change-11654640329?mod=article_inline\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferer\" data-type=\"link\">climate-finance markets<\/a> such as carbon offset purchases. The deals won\u2019t start in earnest until 2023, but lawyers and financiers are already structuring transactions. They are discussing arrangements in which credits would be sold at discounts from face value, and they are determining how to cushion tax-credit buyers against potential risks.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p data-type=\"paragraph\">The bottom line here is simple&#8211;the federal government is going to have more control over who prospers and who doesn&#8217;t. At the rate we are going, we can pretty much assume that companies with the correct politics will be allowed to flourish and companies with incorrect politics will be hampered in their ability to grow.
