The article details the individual stories of some of the prisoners. I will highlight some of the stories, but please follow the link to read all of the accounts. The civil rights of these prisoners have been violated, and they have been forgotten by their government, our politicians, and the American people.<\/p>\n<p>The article reports:<\/p>\n<h3 style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/americangulag.org\/thomas-caldwell\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Thomas Caldwell<\/strong><\/a><\/h3>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><strong>Sharon Caldwell of Berry Hill, Virginia, said she is grateful for Cynthia Hughes and the Patriot Freedom Project for the opportunity to have a press conference where she and the wives, mothers, and family members of Jan. 6 prisoners could speak about what they are going through.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><strong>&#8230;Sharon\u2019s husband, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theepochtimes.com\/navy-veteran-66-lives-an-american-horror-story-since-his-arrest-on-jan-6-seditious-conspiracy-charge_4338067.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Thomas Caldwell<\/a>, has been charged with\u00a0\u201cSeditious Conspiracy Conspiracy to Obstruct an Official Proceeding Obstruction of an Official Proceeding and Aiding and Abetting Conspiracy to Prevent an Officer From Discharging Any Duties Tampering with Documents or Proceedings and Aiding and Abetting\u201d (<a href=\"https:\/\/americangulag.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/05\/1-Indictment-as-to-Rhodes-et-al.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">pdf<\/a>).<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><strong>According to the <a href=\"https:\/\/saveourfarmva.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Save Our Farm<\/a> website, \u201cthe DOJ has falsely claimed that [Thomas] commanded a group called the \u2018Oath Keepers\u2019 to overthrow the U.S. government.\u00a0 The allegations are ridiculous and outrageous.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><strong>According to Save Our Farm, the government has already been forced to admit several mistakes in its investigation:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Tom was NEVER \u201cCommander\u201d of a group called the \u201cOath Keepers\u201d, nor was he ever a \u201cLeader\u201d or a \u201cmember\u201d of this group.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Tom did NOT enter the U.S. Capitol on January 6, 2021.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Tom did NOT commit any acts of violence, damage any property, or threaten anyone,\u00a0including law enforcement.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Tom did NOT participate in a plan to enter the U.S. Capitol on January 6, 2021.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><strong>But since his incarceration,\u00a0he has been \u201csubjected to solitary confinement, physical and mental abuse, and denial of medical care, including life-sustaining prescription medications.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<h3 style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/americangulag.org\/ryan-nichols\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>&#8230;Ryan Nichols<\/strong><\/a><\/h3>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><strong>Bonnie Nichols said her husband Ryan has been \u201cincarcerated in the D.C. gulag\u201d for 514 days, \u201cin prolonged solitary confinement under torturous conditions.\u201d From his four years as a Marine, Bonnie said Ryan suffers from PTSD and the prolonged solitary confinement only exacerbates his condition. Ryan faces <a href=\"https:\/\/americangulag.org\/ryan-nichols\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">11 charges<\/a>, including multiple infractions with the words \u201cDeadly or Dangerous Weapon,\u201d attached. Lesser charges include \u201cParading, Demonstrating, or Picketing in a Capitol Building.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><strong>\u201cHe has been denied access to due process rights, access to his discovery to defend his case, and he has been denied access to nutritional food and sunlight for months,\u201d she asserted.\u00a0\u201cThe narrative they are painting of my husband isn\u2019t accurate. He\u2019s not an insurrectionist.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><strong>According to Bonnie, Ryan owns a nonprofit called <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/RescueTheUniverse1\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Rescue The Universe.<\/a> He goes around the country rescuing people and animals during natural disasters like hurricanes, floods, and tornados. In 2018, Ryan was seen on multiple news outlets <a href=\"https:\/\/news.amomama.com\/106887-volunteer-rescues-dogs-abandoned-by-owne.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">rescuing six dogs<\/a> abandoned by their owner in a locked chain-link cage in Leland, North Carolina.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><strong>\u201cHe\u2019s a hero in his community,\u201d Bonnie said. \u201cHe just went to the Capitol to peacefully protest. I never thought in a million years this would be happening to our family.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<h3 style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/americangulag.org\/matthew-perna\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">.<strong>..Matthew Perna<\/strong><\/a><\/h3>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><strong>Geri Perna of Port Charlotte, Florida, is the aunt of Matthew Perna.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><strong>\u201cMy nephew walked through the Capitol on January 6 and he went through an open door, ushered in by Capitol Police, took pictures with his cell phone, and chanted, \u2018USA, USA,\u201d\u2018 Geri told The Epoch Times. \u201cHe later found out that his picture was on the FBI\u2019s website and he turned himself in immediately. He was never jailed. He was released and he obtained a lawyer.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><strong>According to the Criminal Complaint (<a href=\"https:\/\/americangulag.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/08\/perna_-_complaint_redacted.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">pdf<\/a>), Matthew was charged with \u201cObstruction of an Official Proceeding, Aiding and Abetting, Entering and Remaining in a Restricted Building or Grounds, Disorderly and Disruptive Conduct in a Restricted Building or Grounds and Disorderly Conduct in a Capitol Building.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><strong>Initially, Geri said Matthew was charged with misdemeanors. But later they added the felony charges of obstruction of Congress.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><strong>\u201cIt became a nightmare for Matt,\u201d Geri recalled. \u201cIt was a year of constant delays and postponements for his hearings and he got to the point where it was mentally exhausting.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><strong>In order for the ordeal to end sooner, Geri said Matthew\u2019s attorney advised him to plead guilty. So he plead guilty. About a week before his sentencing Matthew found out the government was planning to add a terrorist enhancement, which would have increased his sentence drastically from six to 12 months to five to six years.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><strong>\u201cThat Friday night [on Feb. 25] at 5:30, he went into his garage and he hung himself,\u201d Geri said tearfully. \u201cHe could not handle this anymore. He was a wonderful man, 37 years old. He had a great living. He traveled world wide. He didn\u2019t have a hateful bone in his body.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Until the Justice Department becomes apolitical, none of the people who have denied these prisoners their civil rights and subjected them to the inhumane conditions they have endured will be held accountable. There is no way this should be happening in America. Unless Americans begin to speak out, it will continue.
