On Friday, <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2022\/05\/27\/joe-biden-white-house-vladimir-putin-price-hike-gas-talking-points-economists\/?utm_medium=email&amp;pnespid=s_V_VzVbJq0K3.LMrSipGpCSpRKwWYFuNPqg3.c5rhBmCVjd1jBETwZdPh1fVuhvKvhx3WtoOg\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">The Daily Caller<\/a> posted an article about the real cause of the rising gasoline prices.<\/p>\n<p>The article reports:<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2022\/03\/09\/white-house-rebrands-rising-gas-prices-putin-price-hike\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>The White House<\/strong><\/a><strong> often describes higher prices at the pump as \u201cPutin\u2019s price hike,\u201d but prices were going up steadily after President Joe Biden took office. The price already increased by 55%, rising from a U.S. average of $2.11 when Biden took office to $3.51 the day before Russian President Vladimir Putin decided to invade Ukraine, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.forbes.com\/sites\/davidblackmon\/2022\/03\/09\/biden-no-longer-working-like-the-devil-on-gas-prices-shifts-blame-to-putin\/?sh=6ea1f0d176f3\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">according<\/a> to Forbes.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><strong>\u201cThe \u2018Putin\u2019s price hike\u2019 is laughable \u2013 and you can tell because no matter how hard they try to advance this particular little bit of propaganda absolutely nobody but White House spokespeople use the word,\u201d <span class=\"il\">John<\/span>\u00a0<span class=\"il\">Cochrane<\/span>, a Hoover Institution senior fellow, told the Caller.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><strong>\u201cThe administration wants to blame anybody but itself for the challenges of the American economy. [\u2018Putin\u2019s price hike\u2019 is] a good talking point because there\u2019s a sliver of truth in it,\u201d Presid<wbr \/>ent of the American Institute for Economic Research, William Ruger, told the Caller in an interview.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><strong>The current U.S. average price of gas sits at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.eia.gov\/petroleum\/gasdiesel\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">$4.59<\/a> per gallon and prices in California have reached as <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2022\/05\/24\/some-california-gas-prices-are-higher-than-federal-minimum-wage\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">high<\/a> as $7.25 per gallon.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The article notes that although inflation is part of the problem, the problem is also due to the Biden administration&#8217;s war on oil and gas.<\/p>\n<p>The article notes:<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><strong>\u201cAt least early on in the price run-up, drilling activity was comparatively muted. Cancelled leases, cancelled pipelines, proposed regulations to penalize lenders that financed fossil-energy businesses all dampened production responses that would be putting oil and gas on the market today,\u201d Kreutzer said.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><strong>&#8230;Biden stymied future production of gasoline by canceling the Keystone XL oil pipeline, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cbsnews.com\/news\/gas-prices-oil-gas-lease-alaska-biden-sale-canceled\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">halting the sales<\/a> of a drilling area in Alaska and two in the Gulf of Mexico, and banning new oil and gas leasing on public lands.<\/strong> <b><\/b><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><strong>\u201cIf the global supply of oil is low, we should ask who canceled the Keystone Pipeline on his first day in office, why fracking is banned in many states, and so forth. Hobbling U.S. energy investment has been the deliberate policy of the administration from the first day in office,\u201d Cochrane said.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><strong>\u201cThe administration should have accelerated approval of pipeline permits, instead of blocking and cancelling them. It should not have cancelled leases that had already been issued.
