On Saturday, The Conservative Daily Wire<\/a> posted an article reminding us that there were 50 National Intelligence types who signed a letter suggesting that Hunter Biden’s laptop was Russian disinformation (when in doubt, blame the Russians). Recently The New York Times has admitted that the laptop actually belonged to Hunter Biden and that the information on it was really his. The letter was used by the Biden campaign to play down the story and accuse President Trump of colluding with the Russians. This is the link to the letter<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Below are portions of the letter in case it mysteriously disappears from the Internet:<\/p>\n

We are all individuals who devoted significant portions of our lives to national security. Some of<\/span> us served in senior positions in policy departments and agencies, and some of us served in<\/span> senior positions in the Intelligence Community. Some of us were political appointees, and some<\/span> were career officials. Many of us worked for presidents of both political parties.<\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

We are all also individuals who see Russia as one of our nation\u2019s primary adversaries. All of us<\/span> have an understanding of the wide range of Russian overt and covert activities that undermine<\/span> US national security, with some of us knowing Russian behavior intimately, as we worked to<\/span> defend our nation against it for a career. A few of us worked against Russian information<\/span> operations in the United States in the last several years.<\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Perhaps most important, each of us believes deeply that American citizens should determine the<\/span> outcome of elections, not foreign governments. All of us agree with the founding fathers\u2019<\/span> concern about the damage that foreign interference in our politics can do to our democracy.<\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

It is for all these reasons that we write to say that the arrival on the US political scene of emails<\/span> purportedly belonging to Vice President Biden\u2019s son Hunter, much of it related to his time<\/span> serving on the Board of the Ukrainian gas company Burisma, has<\/span> all the classic earmarks of a<\/span> Russian information operation<\/span>.<\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

We want to emphasize that we do not know if the emails, provided to the New York Post by<\/span> President Trump\u2019s personal attorney Rudy Giuliani, are genuine or not and that we do not have<\/span> evidence of Russian involvement — just that our experience makes us deeply suspicious that the<\/span> Russian government played a significant role in this case.<\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

You can follow the link<\/a> to read the rest. Notice the ‘weasel words’–“we don’t know…just that our experience makes us deeply suspicious.” These people were lying through their teeth. It is possible that some of them did not know they were lying, but I doubt it.<\/p>\n
