{"id":44757,"date":"2022-03-06T12:49:40","date_gmt":"2022-03-06T17:49:40","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.rightwinggranny.com\/?p=44757"},"modified":"2022-03-06T12:49:40","modified_gmt":"2022-03-06T17:49:40","slug":"ignoring-the-solution-to-high-energy-prices","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.rightwinggranny.com\/?p=44757","title":{"rendered":"Ignoring The Solution To High Energy Prices"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>On February 28th, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bizpacreview.com\/2022\/02\/28\/white-house-dismisses-cries-to-increase-us-oil-amid-war-psaki-says-we-must-prioritize-clean-energy-1206673\/?fbclid=IwAR2Cl2CfGf25-reOAAbPu087KcgIf5DGHOMN2li7ot-0-wUEJInkHFLt9RQ\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">BizPacReview<\/a> posted an article illustrating the Biden administration&#8217;s plan to deal with the current high energy prices.<\/p>\n<p>The article reports:<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><strong>White House press secretary Jen Psaki called for furthering green energy initiatives in the face of foreign oil dependence that could see Americans burdened by $150\/barrel prices.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><strong>In an appearance on ABC\u2019s \u201cThis Week,\u201d Psaki dismissed calls for President Biden to restart the Keystone XL oil pipeline and instead harkened back to the executive order that <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bizpacreview.com\/2022\/01\/07\/federal-judge-tosses-lawsuit-challenging-bidens-authority-to-block-keystone-pipeline-1185510\/\">canceled the project<\/a> which stated, the U.S. \u201cmust prioritize the development of a clean energy economy.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><strong>\u201cWhat this actually justifies in President Biden\u2019s view is the fact that we need to reduce our dependence on foreign oil, on oil in general,\u201d Psaki claimed, \u201cand we need to look at other ways of having energy in our country and others.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>In 1948, Winston Churchill made a speech to the House of Commons in which he said, &#8220;<b>Those<\/b> <b>who<\/b> <b>fail<\/b> <b>to<\/b> <b>learn<\/b> <b>from<\/b> <b>history<\/b> are condemned to repeat it.&#8221; The actual quote is &#8220;<b>Those<\/b> <b>who<\/b> cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it.&#8221; (George Santayana-1905). Regardless of the origin or the wording, the concept is valid. Unfortunately we have an administration in Washington that is ignoring those words.<\/p>\n<p>In September 2014, I posted an <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rightwinggranny.com\/?p=23739\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">article<\/a> about Spain&#8217;s attempt to convert from fossil fuel to green energy. I quoted a <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2014\/08\/28\/spains-green-economy-skyrocketing-power-prices-and-higher-co2-emissions\/?utm_referrer=http%3A%2F%2Fm.facebook.com%2Fl.php%3Fu%3Dhttp%253A%252F%252Fdailycaller.com%252F2014%252F08%252F28%252Fspains-green-economy-skyrocketing-power-prices-and-higher-co2-emissions%252F%26h%3DnAQE-dQU0%26s%3D1%26enc%3DAZMbmumiPcqbul8OLKCruuYgJR68ihO9TvG0asabYjyjO8gGuiUPFvHiLNXRi7_eZoSDJ089pOc8L5T2E6SZVXqDkprQKHk88xe_Bjb4xV4Krw\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Daily Caller<\/a> article detailing the results:<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><strong>The IER study also notes that Spain\u2019s green agenda was not able to keep its carbon footprint from rising. Between 1994 and 2011, Spain\u2019s carbon dioxide emissions grew 34.5 percent, despite the country\u2019s green push which began in the 1990s.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><strong>\u201cWhile the renewable policies themselves were likely not the cause of the emissions increase, the upward trend does prove that <a class=\"zem_slink\" title=\"Renewable Energy\" href=\"http:\/\/www.wikinvest.com\/industry\/Renewable_Energy\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener wikinvest\">renewable energy<\/a> policies were insufficient to reduce CO2 emissions over a roughly twenty-year period,\u201d according to IER.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><strong>\u201cis anything but the model for American energy policy,\u201d reads the IER study. \u201cThe country\u2019s expensive feed-in tariff system, subsidies, and renewable energy quotas have plunged a sizable portion of Spaniards into fuel poverty, raised electricity bills, all while having almost no meaningful impact on curtailing carbon dioxide emissions.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The article at BizPacReview states:<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><strong>Contrary to Psaki, Bartiromo pointed out, \u201cThe only move for the United States at this point to protect itself is to become energy independent again.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><strong>Bartiromo (Maria Bartiromo) further stated that Biden is partially responsible for the looming energy crisis as he canceled the Keystone XL pipeline and all drilling on federal land on his first day in office. Biden continued the assault on domestic energy production last week when the administration delayed decisions on permitting new oil and gas leases, Fox Business <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxbusiness.com\/politics\/psaki-pushes-renewable-energy-stop-dependence-foreign-oil-instead-of-increasing-us-production\">reported<\/a>.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><strong>The delay is in direct response to an <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bizpacreview.com\/2022\/02\/21\/liberals-target-judiciary-in-an-about-face-after-judge-impedes-biden-climate-agenda-1203838\/\">injunction<\/a> that prevents these new leases from paying more than $50\/ton on their carbon emissions that Biden also demanded on his first day in office. The judge\u2019s temporary injunction allows the rate to remain at the $7\/ton that President Trump had instituted following the initial $50+\/ton under President Obama.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><strong>Biden had also proposed <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bizpacreview.com\/2021\/12\/04\/dozens-of-republicans-slam-biden-admin-for-considering-crude-oil-export-ban-1171319\/\">banning all crude oil<\/a> exports from the United States in December, a consideration which was highly panned amidst an already suffering economy. Republican pushback against such devastating measures was led in part by Rep. August Pfluger (TX) who has once again stepped up to promote American energy security.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The war over Ukraine has further proven that America needs to be not only energy independent, but a major exporter of fossil fuel. That is the only way to remain a world power.
