Video of the massive Freedom Convoy 2022 rally in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada, illustrate how people showed up in massive numbers from daylight through night to protest against the Canadian government\u2019s vaccine mandates. Those mandates would\u00a0force<\/a>\u00a0unvaccinated Canadian truckers crossing into the United States to quarantine once they\u2019ve returned home.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

Freedom Convoy spokesman Benjamin Dichter told Fox News\u2019 Tucker Carlson, \u201cWe\u2019ve seen Canada go from a country of Justin Trudeau\u2019s promises of \u2018sunny ways\u2019 into dark authoritarian oppression and control. We want two things: we want to get rid of the vaccine mandates and the passports. And the passports, that\u2019s the really concerning one. Yesterday it was my first time ever crossing the border in my truck with my digital passport, and I held my phone up to the border agent to give him the QR code. You know what he said to me? \u2018Oh, it\u2019s okay, I don\u2019t need it.\u2019\u201d<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

\u201cSo what do you mean, you don\u2019t need it?\u201d Richter recalled asking, adding that the agent replied, \u201cYour phone already popped up on my screen and is correlated with your passport.\u201d<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

\u201cThink of that,\u201d Richter said. \u201cCan you believe that? So they know everybody who\u2019s coming up to the border before they\u2019re there and they\u2019re tracking them. Maybe it\u2019s outlandish, but what\u2019s to prevent the government from introducing that across Canada and not limiting it to just borders?\u201d<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n
