Yesterday <a href=\"https:\/\/redstate.com\/mike_miller\/2021\/11\/25\/bidens-bbb-bill-will-give-you-12-5k-if-you-buy-an-electric-car-unless-its-a-tesla-that-is-n481515?fbclid=IwAR3Bh22RYSc9yO5kZA_KX8O_qVOOPXahhDatnvN39bB5tqGLdS1dMFq5YHQ\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Red State<\/a> posted an article that illustrates how that system works.<\/p>\n<p>The article reports:<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><strong>In yet another example that powerful teachers unions and labor unions enjoy joint custody of Joe Biden and the Democrat Party, the ridiculously named socialist monstrosity \u201cBuild Back Better\u201d Act contains a provision that provides a tax credit of up to $12,500 to purchasers of electric vehicles \u2014 other than Teslas.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><strong>Why not Teslas? Three words: United Autoworkers Union.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><strong>That\u2019s right, America, as <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cbsnews.com\/news\/build-back-better-bill-electric-car-tax-breaks\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">reported<\/a> by CBS News, only electric vehicles made in unionized U.S. factories qualify for the full $12,500. However, if Tesla it must be, your tax credit would be capped at $7,500.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The article lists the criteria for the tax credit (note that it is a tax credit&#8211;not a refund&#8211;the government doesn&#8217;t want you to keep too much of your own money):<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>A credit of up to $7,500 for an electric or plug-in hybrid vehicle, defined as a car with a battery capacity of at least 40 kilowatt-hours and a gas tank, if any, under 2.5 gallons.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>An additional $500 credit for a car with a battery pack made in the U.S.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>An additional $4,500 credit for cars assembled at a unionized U.S. plant. (Currently, only plants owned by GM, Ford, and Stellantis qualify [formerly, Fiat-Chrysler].)<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The information above comes from CBS News.<\/p>\n<p>The article continues:<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><strong>In addition, to qualify for tax credits under Biden\u2019s BBB (Build Back <em>Broke<\/em>), electric vehicles must fall under a price limit. Vans, sports utility vehicles, and pickup trucks need to be under $80,000 to be eligible for the credit; for all other cars, the price limit is $55,000.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The article concludes:<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><strong>The worst part about the Democrat Party in situations like this \u2014 blatant pandering to labor unions \u2014 is the complete disingenuousness of the whole thing. We know \u2014 and they know we know \u2014 that \u201cclimate change,\u201d \u201cgreen energy,\u201d and fossil fuels have less to do with this provision, along with taxpayer relief and \u201cgood-paying jobs,\u201d and more to do with delivering to the UAW exactly what it expects.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><strong>Doubt it?
