Despite having a large percentage of elderly in his state, he has managed to balance freedom and safety. He has kept the death rate down without some of the government overreach that is obvious in the federal government and some other states. <a href=\"https:\/\/thegreggjarrett.com\/florida-fines-county-over-3-5-million-for-violating-law-against-vaccine-mandates\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Gregg Jarrett<\/a> posted an article today that illustrates Governor DeSantis&#8217; commitment to protecting the freedom of Florida residents.<\/p>\n<p>The article reports:<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><strong>The Florida Department of Health fined Leon County over $3.5 million last week after it fired 14 workers for refusing to show proof of receiving the <a href=\"https:\/\/thegreggjarrett.com\/shortage-of-ventilators-may-not-be-as-big-a-threat-as-not-having-enough-licensed-operators-to-run-them\/\">COVID-19<\/a> vaccine.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><strong>Florida notified the county in a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.scribd.com\/document\/531888726\/Leon-County-Notice-of-Violation#from_embed\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">letter<\/a> sent to Leon County administrator Vincent Long saying that the county had violated state law.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><strong>\u201cBy way of <a href=\"https:\/\/thegreggjarrett.com\/cnn-did-700-stories-on-kavanaugh-will-they-give-biden-victim-same-courtesy\/\">media<\/a> reports, Leon County was made aware of a notice from the Florida Department of Health regarding the County\u2019s vaccination requirement,\u201d Long told\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.fox4now.com\/news\/local-news\/leon-county-fined-over-3-5m-over-vaccine-related-terminations\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Fox 4<\/a> in response. \u201cThere is a genuine disagreement about the applicability of the statute and rule, and the County will enforce its rights using any remedies available at law, if necessary.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><strong>\u201cIt is unacceptable that Leon County violated Florida law, infringed on current and former employees\u2019 medical privacy, and fired loyal public servants because of their personal health decisions,\u201d a spokesperson for Florida Governor Ron DeSantis said in a statement Tuesday. \u201cGovernor DeSantis will continue fighting for Floridians\u2019 rights and the Florida Department of Health will continue to enforce the law.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<div class=\"code-block code-block-4\" style=\"padding-left: 40px;\">\n<div style=\"padding-left: 40px;\" data-pw-mobi=\"med_rect_btf\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><strong>In September, DeSantis announced that Florida would protect its citizens after reports that Leon County fired employees for not being vaccinated.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Stay tuned.
