{"id":43090,"date":"2021-09-04T16:59:13","date_gmt":"2021-09-04T20:59:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.rightwinggranny.com\/?p=43090"},"modified":"2021-09-04T16:59:13","modified_gmt":"2021-09-04T20:59:13","slug":"this-could-be-very-interesting-3","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.rightwinggranny.com\/?p=43090","title":{"rendered":"This Could Be Very Interesting"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Yesterday <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2021\/09\/03\/feds-ordered-to-reveal-names-of-ghislaine-maxwells-alleged-co-conspirators\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">The New York Post<\/a> reported that a Judge in Manhattan has ruled that federal prosecutors must divulge the \u201cidentities of any unnamed co-conspirators\u201d that they plan on referencing at <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2021\/08\/27\/firm-trial-date-set-for-november-in-ghislaine-maxwell-case\/\">Ghislaine Maxwell\u2019s sex trafficking trial<\/a> in Manhattan.<\/p>\n<p>The article reports:<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><strong>Prosecutors must also \u201cdisclose <em>all<\/em> co-conspirator statements it intends to offer at trial,\u201d Nathan ruled, arguing the government\u2019s claim that the revelation would cause \u2018potential danger to co-conspirators\u2019 or risk \u2018compromising continuing investigations,\u2019\u201d was bogus.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><strong>\u201cThe Government provides no explanation for this purported harm and none is apparent to the Court,\u201d Nathan wrote. \u201cThus, the Court finds that this concern alone does not outweigh the risk of surprise to the Defendant in this case or the need for the parties to litigate co-conspirator issues in advance of trial to ensure the absence of delay.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><strong>Maxwell, 59, had requested that prosecutors name the two co-conspirators described in their indictment to avoid being ambushed at her trial, which is set to begin on Nov. 29.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>There are some very powerful people who I suspect do not want this trial to move forward. I suspect there are many people in our government who want to delay this trial or have it not happen.
