{"id":41796,"date":"2021-04-09T12:23:28","date_gmt":"2021-04-09T16:23:28","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.rightwinggranny.com\/?p=41796"},"modified":"2021-04-09T12:23:28","modified_gmt":"2021-04-09T16:23:28","slug":"this-is-an-alarming-statement","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.rightwinggranny.com\/?p=41796","title":{"rendered":"This Is An Alarming Statement"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Yesterday <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/2nd-amendment\/2021\/04\/08\/joe-biden-declares-no-amendment-to-the-constitution-is-absolute-in-gun-control-speech\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Breitbart<\/a> posted an article about a statement made by President Biden while introducing his executive action on gun control.<\/p>\n<p>The article reports:<\/p>\n<p class=\"subheading\" style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><strong>President Joe Biden declared Thursday that \u201cno amendment is absolute\u201d while unveiling a series of executive actions targeting American citizens\u2019 Second Amendment rights.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><strong>\u201cToday, we\u2019re taking steps to confront not just the gun crisis, but what is actually a public health crisis,\u201d Biden announced in a speech at the White House\u2019s Rose Garden, claiming: \u201cNothing, nothing I am about to recommend in any way impinges on the Second Amendment.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The President contimued:<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><strong>\u201cNo amendment, no amendment to the Constitution is absolute,\u201d the president continued. \u201cYou can\u2019t yell \u2018fire\u2019 in a crowded movie theater \u2014 recall a freedom of speech. From the very beginning, you couldn\u2019t own any weapon you wanted to own. From the very beginning that the Second Amendment existed, certain people weren\u2019t allowed to have weapons.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Let&#8217;s review this a minute. If no amendment to the Constitution is absolute, then what good is the Constitution? The Second Amendment is part of the Bill of Rights. The intention of the Bill of Rights is to limit the power of the government. The Bill of Rights was added to the Constitution so that states who feared an all-powerful central government would vote in favor of adopting the Constitution. The Second Amendment was intended to keep the government in check&#8211;not to keep the citizens in check. The Bill of Rights was in no way intended to limit the rights of Americans.<\/p>\n<p>The Second Amendment states:<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><strong>\u201cA well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>President Biden&#8217;s executive order does infringe on the rights of Americans to bear arms, and therefore should be declared unconstitutional.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Yesterday Breitbart posted an article about a statement made by President Biden while introducing his executive action on gun control.
