The coalition, led by Republican West Virginia Attorney General Patrick Morrisey, <a href=\"https:\/\/content.govdelivery.com\/attachments\/MTAG\/2021\/03\/31\/file_attachments\/1741109\/2021.03.31%20Yellen%20Complaint%20FINAL%20As%20Filed-c1.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">filed<\/a> the federal lawsuit Wednesday evening in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Alabama.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><strong>In a statement released on Wednesday, Morrisey said, \u201cNever before has the federal government attempted such a complete takeover of state finances. We cannot stand for such overreach.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><strong>&#8230;The lawsuit explains that the tax provision is \u201cone of the most egregious power grabs\u201d in U.S. history, adding that the Tenth Amendment doesn\u2019t allow the federal government to stretch their authority like the Biden Administration is doing.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The lawsuit is needed.
