{"id":41614,"date":"2021-03-18T10:21:43","date_gmt":"2021-03-18T14:21:43","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.rightwinggranny.com\/?p=41614"},"modified":"2021-03-18T10:21:43","modified_gmt":"2021-03-18T14:21:43","slug":"pushing-back-against-damaging-decisions","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.rightwinggranny.com\/?p=41614","title":{"rendered":"Pushing Back Against Damaging Decisions"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/saraacarter.com\/21-states-sue-biden-for-revoking-keystone-pipeline-permit\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Sara Carter<\/a> is reporting today that 21 states have filed a lawsuit to sue the Biden administration over the cancellation of the Keystone XL Pipeline.<\/p>\n<p>The article reports:<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><strong>21 states, led by Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton and Montana Attorney General Austin Knudsen, submitted a complaint Wednesday to a Texas federal court arguing that the President does not have the authority to cancel the permit.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><strong>Revoking the permit is a \u201cregulation of interstate and international commerce\u201d that should be left to Congress, the complaint said.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><strong>Some of the states included in the lawsuit have Democratic governors, including Kentucky and Kansas, however, all of the states have republican attorneys general.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><strong>The proposed 1,200-mile pipeline would have carried oil from Canada to the U.S.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><strong>\u201cThis pipeline was set to go through six counties in extreme Eastern Montana\u2026 five of those counties are already designated as high-poverty counties,\u201d Montana AG Knudsen told Fox News. \u201cThe project was set to become the largest property taxpayer in all of those counties\u2026 That\u2019s out the window. Just shy of 4,000 jobs, that\u2019s out the window.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The article concludes:<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><strong>Kundsen called Biden\u2019s cancellation of the permit \u201can empty virtue signal to his wealthy coastal elite donors.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><strong>\u201cThe power to regulate foreign and interstate commerce belongs to Congress \u2013 not the President. This is another example of Joe Biden overstepping his constitutional role to the detriment of Montanans,\u201d he added.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><strong>Opponents of the pipeline argue that the U.S. should not be importing carbon-intensive tar sands oil.
