{"id":40440,"date":"2020-11-13T17:24:00","date_gmt":"2020-11-13T22:24:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.rightwinggranny.com\/?p=40440"},"modified":"2020-11-13T17:24:00","modified_gmt":"2020-11-13T22:24:00","slug":"reports-from-people-who-were-there","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.rightwinggranny.com\/?p=40440","title":{"rendered":"Reports From People Who Were There"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Yesterday <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theepochtimes.com\/there-was-a-conscious-effort-to-disrupt-our-jobs-detroit-poll-watcher_3576598.html?utm_source=newsnoe&amp;utm_medium=email&amp;utm_campaign=breaking-2020-11-12-4\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">The Epoch Times<\/a> posted a first-hand account of some events that took place during ballot processing in Wayne County Michigan.<\/p>\n<p>The article reports:<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><strong>A Republican poll watcher who filed a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theepochtimes.com\/t-lawsuit\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">lawsuit<\/a> over suspected <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theepochtimes.com\/t-election\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">election<\/a> fraud described a \u201cpattern of intimidation and bullying\u201d as he and others tried to monitor the ballot processing in Wayne County, the largest in the battleground state of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theepochtimes.com\/t-michigan\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Michigan<\/a>.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><strong>A group of \u201cextremely confrontational\u201d poll observers \u201cconstantly\u201d accosted the Republican watchers, hindering their ability to focus on observing the ballot count and checking for errors, Edward McCall told The Epoch Times.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><strong>\u201cIt was constant; it was unbelievable. The level of hostility and distraction, and just asking questions and staring at me from a couple of feet away \u2026 it was shocking,\u201d he said in an interview.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><strong>McCall is one of two plaintiffs in a Nov. 9 lawsuit (<a href=\"https:\/\/greatlakesjc.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/Complaint-Costantino-FINAL-With-Exhibits.pdf?x44644\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">pdf<\/a>) alleging \u201cnumerous issues of fraud and misconduct\u201d at the TCF Center in downtown <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theepochtimes.com\/t-detroit\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Detroit<\/a>, the facility that counts all the absentee ballots for Wayne County. McCall worked as a poll watcher there from Nov. 2 to Nov. 4.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><strong>On Nov. 3 and Nov. 4, poll workers \u201cwould hold papers in such a way as to block out view of the ballots,\u201d McCall wrote in an affidavit seen by The Epoch Times.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Please understand that the affidavits signed by witnesses are legal documents. Saying something untrue on them can result in being charged with perjury and arrested. This is serious.<\/p>\n<p>The article concludes:<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><strong>McCall counted 24 instances of ballot problems during his shift on Nov. 2. At least 15 ballots came with handwritten ballot numbers on the outer envelope that didn\u2019t match the electronic poll book; one ballot was marked with the wrong date on the envelope; and some ballot forms weren\u2019t filled out properly, but the checkers counted them without review, he said. Further, processed ballots were placed in a satchel atop a metal box containing ballots that require scanning. Workers could mistakenly miss the box or double-count ballots by accident, he said.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><strong>The workload also varied greatly across tables. While workers at McCall\u2019s table had only 20 ballots on election night and basically sat around afterwards, others received as many as 2,000, causing them to speed through the process and potentially brush off any challenges as being disruptive, he said.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><strong>David Fink, an attorney for the City of Detroit Mayor\u2019s Office, has dismissed both litigations as \u201cbaseless.\u201d Spokesperson for the Michigan Department of State Jake Rollow called the Trump lawsuit \u201cthe same kind of irresponsible false rhetoric and misinformation that we saw throughout the election,\u201d and maintained that \u201cMichigan\u2019s elections were conducted fairly, securely, transparently.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><strong>But McCall argued that dismissing the allegations without considering the details is \u201ca panacea\u201d\u2014\u201can overarching statement that does not reflect the facts on the ground.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><strong>Dozens of Republican poll challengers have approached McCall over their treatment at the venue, he said.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><strong>\u201cWe owe it to the rest of the country to have a more transparent and more streamlined ballot processing here in Michigan, especially in Wayne County,\u201d he said.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Stay tuned.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 80px;\">\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Yesterday The Epoch Times posted a first-hand account of some events that took place during ballot processing in Wayne County Michigan.
