As he heads into the final stretch of the election, President Trump is getting a boost from\u00a0new census data showing\u00a0historic, broad-based economic\u00a0gains<\/a>\u00a0for U.S. households in\u00a02019.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The U.S. Census Bureau on Monday released data showing\u00a0median household income surging to a record high of more than $68,700 last year. The increase of 6.8% in household income was the\u00a0largest one-year increase<\/a>\u00a0on record.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The\u00a0poverty\u00a0rate, meanwhile, fell to\u00a010.5%<\/a>\u00a0last year, a record low, with 4.2 million Americans lifted out of\u00a0poverty\u00a0last year, the largest decrease in\u00a0poverty\u00a0since 1966.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Median household incomes for\u00a0African-Americans<\/a>,\u00a0Hispanics,<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0Asian-Americans<\/a>\u00a0all hit record highs last year, along with a record-high median income for\u00a0women<\/a>.\u00a0The income gains for blacks, Hispanics, and Asian-Americans were\u00a0all one-year record increases<\/a>. According to the Council of Economic Advisers, “the\u00a0poverty\u00a0rate fell to an all-time record low for every race and ethnic group in 2019,\u201d<\/a>\u00a0and the child\u00a0poverty\u00a0rate hit a\u00a050-year low<\/a>.<\/strong><\/p>\n

At the White House, Trump noted that the new census data showed\u00a0income inequality has fallen<\/a>\u00a0over the last two years. He noted that COVID-19 presented challenges during 2020 to American households but predicted a robust economic recovery, which to date has exceeded many economists’ forecasts.<\/strong><\/p>\n

I guess those ‘tax cuts for the rich’ didn’t only help the rich!<\/p>\n

One of the ways that people who support socialism move a country in the direction of socialism is to eliminate the middle class. In a socialist county, the ruling class is extremely wealthy and everyone else lives in poverty. Many of our political leaders have been moving America in that direction for years. One of the reasons for the irrational hatred directed at President Trump is that he is reversing that trend–thus he is a threat to their power and ultimate plan. Many of our political and media elites really do not have the best interests of the average America at heart. They are interested in their own success and really don’t care about doing things that will benefit the rest of us.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
