It has become very obvious to anyone paying attention that there is now a new sheriff in town&#8211;she holds her ground against hostile reporters very well.<\/p>\n<p>Today <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/watch-reporter-tries-catch-new-press-sec-words-instead-gets-savaged-60-seconds-straight\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">The Western Journal<\/a> posted an article that perfectly illustrates the skills of Ms. McEnany.<\/p>\n<p>The article cites a recent exchange with Reuters reporter Jeff Mason.<\/p>\n<p>The article reports:<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><strong>\u201cIn a previous life, before you were press secretary, you worked for the campaign,\u201d Mason said. \u201cAnd you made a comment, I believe on Fox, that President Trump would not allow the coronavirus to come to this country. Given what has happened since then, obviously, would you like to take that back?\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><strong>McEnany first clarified that the statement she made involved an appearance on Fox Business in which she was asked about the intent behind the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/500000-travelers-china-flooded-us-height-countrys-outbreak\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">travel restrictions with China<\/a> and\u00a0 she \u201cnoted the intent behind the restrictions, which is that we will not see the coronavirus come here.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><strong>This is a bit different from what Mason\u2019s question implied. (The media-centric website Grabien <a href=\"https:\/\/grabien.com\/story.php?id=282051\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">has the video<\/a> of McEnany\u2019s Feb. 25 interview with then-Fox Business Network anchor Trish Regan.)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><strong>Here\u2019s the crux of McEnany\u2019s issue, though: Mason had apparently forgotten what his fellow scribes had also said on the matter.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><strong>\u201cI guess I would turn the question back on the media and ask similar questions,\u201d McEnany said.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><strong>\u201cDoes Vox want to take back that they proclaimed that the coronavirus would not be \u2018a deadly pandemic\u2019? Does The Washington Post want to take back that they told Americans to \u2018get a grippe, the flu is bigger than the coronavirus\u2019?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><strong>\u201cDoes The Washington Post, likewise, want to take back that \u2018our brains are causing us to exaggerate the threat of the coronavirus\u2019?\u201d she continued.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><strong>\u201cDoes The New York Times want to take back that the \u2018fear of the virus may be spreading faster than the virus itself\u2019? Does NPR want to take back that \u2018the flu was a much bigger threat than the coronavirus\u2019? And finally, once again The Washington Post, would they like to take back that \u2019the government should not respond aggressively to the coronavirus\u2019?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><strong>\u201cI\u2019ll leave you with those questions, and maybe you\u2019ll have some answers in a few days,\u201d McEnany said in closing, and cue mic drop.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The article includes a video of the question an answer and links to the articles Ms. McEnany quoted. Please follow the link above to see both. The video is quite entertaining.
