{"id":38680,"date":"2020-04-19T14:49:32","date_gmt":"2020-04-19T18:49:32","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.rightwinggranny.com\/?p=38680"},"modified":"2020-04-19T14:49:32","modified_gmt":"2020-04-19T18:49:32","slug":"well-done","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.rightwinggranny.com\/?p=38680","title":{"rendered":"Well Done"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Yesterday <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thegatewaypundit.com\/2020\/04\/kentucky-legislature-overrides-governor-bashears-veto-voter-requirements\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">The Gateway Pundit<\/a> reported that the Kentucky state legislature has overridden Democrat governor Andy Beshear&#8217;s veto of a bill requiring ID to vote.<\/p>\n<p>The article reports:<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><strong>Well it turns out Kentucky has a relatively low threshold for overriding a governor\u2019s veto, <a href=\"https:\/\/ballotpedia.org\/Template:Kentucky_veto_override\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">which only requires a simply majority<\/a>.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Kentucky_General_Assembly\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">The Kentucky General Assembly is overwhelmingly Republican<\/a>, outnumbering the democrats 29-9 in the Senate and 61-37 in the House.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><strong>So the legislature got back together last week and took up votes to override Beshear\u2019s veto, <a href=\"https:\/\/apps.legislature.ky.gov\/record\/20rs\/sb2\/vote_history.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">which passed by huge margins<\/a> in both chambers.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>We live in a country where ID is required to cash a check, get on an airplane, enter a federal building, rent a car, receive medical treatment, and many other routine things. Why shouldn&#8217;t we require an ID to exercise our most precious right&#8211;the right to vote?<\/p>\n<p>Every vote cast by in ineligible voter cancels out the vote of a legitimate voter.
