{"id":385,"date":"2008-12-27T07:44:16","date_gmt":"2008-12-27T07:44:16","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.rightwinggranny.com\/?p=385"},"modified":"2008-12-27T07:44:16","modified_gmt":"2008-12-27T07:44:16","slug":"some_things_just_sound_better","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.rightwinggranny.com\/?p=385","title":{"rendered":"Some Things Just Sound Better Than They Are"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Charles Krauthammer has written an article in January&#8217;s edition of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.weeklystandard.com\/Content\/Public\/Articles\/000\/000\/015\/949rsrgi.asp?pg=1\">The Weekly Standard<\/a>&nbsp;suggesting an increase in the gasoline tax and a decrease in the payroll tax.&nbsp; Charles Krauthammer is a much more intelligent person than I am, and normally I am amazed by the brilliance of his ideas.&nbsp; This time I think he is out to lunch.<\/p>\n<p>First of all, never allow the government to raise any tax, regardless of what they promise in return!&nbsp; I live in Massachusetts.&nbsp; We still pay a &#8216;temporary&#8217; income tax that was instituted at least ten years ago (only for a year or two).&nbsp; The citizens of this state were too timid to vote to abolish the state income tax last year because they were told it would devastate their state.<\/p>\n<p>Does anyone remember George H.W.
