{"id":38422,"date":"2020-03-19T11:39:02","date_gmt":"2020-03-19T15:39:02","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.rightwinggranny.com\/?p=38422"},"modified":"2020-03-19T11:39:02","modified_gmt":"2020-03-19T15:39:02","slug":"this-is-not-helpful-to-anyone-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.rightwinggranny.com\/?p=38422","title":{"rendered":"This Is Not Helpful To Anyone"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/politics\/2020\/03\/18\/dark-money-progressive-groups-spending-millions-to-politicize-coronavirus-spread-fear\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Breitbart<\/a> reported the following yesterday:<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><strong>A Democrat-aligned Super PAC announced on Tuesday that it will\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/politics\/2020\/03\/17\/mid-crisis-democrat-super-pac-to-spend-5-million-attacking-trump-over-coronavirus\/\">spend<\/a> $5 million on negative ads targeting President Trump\u2019s response to the coronavirus.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Why not spend $5 million on encouraging people to take precautions to avoid getting the virus or to help those most impacted by the financial distress caused by the virus?<\/p>\n<p>The article continues:<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><strong>Acronym owns the technology firm Shadow, Inc., which was responsible for developing the\u00a0infamous app used in the chaotic Iowa caucuses. Notably, the firm\u2019s founder and CEO, Tara McGowan, \u201cworked for Barack Obama\u2019s 2012 campaign and previously served as the digital director for NextGen America, a progressive organization founded by presidential candidate Tom Steyer,\u201d as RealClearPolitics <a href=\"https:\/\/www.realclearpolitics.com\/articles\/2020\/02\/14\/bloomberg_camp_denies_funding_of_flawed_iowa_voting_app__142399.html\">noted<\/a>.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><strong>Acronym is <a href=\"https:\/\/americansforpublictrust.org\/news\/new-reports-reveal-the-dark-money-network-working-to-politicize-coronavirus\/\">funded<\/a> by the \u201cliberal dark money group\u201d New Venture Fund, which is \u201cpart of\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.arabellaadvisors.com\/expertise\/fiscal-sponsorship\/\">a larger group<\/a>\u00a0called Arabella Advisors, which\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.arabellaadvisors.com\/company\/our-story\/\">provides<\/a>\u00a0philanthropic guidance and manages four nonprofits,\u201d according to the nonpartisan ethics watchdog group Americans for Public Trust. Those also\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/capitalresearch.org\/article\/crc-exposes-left-wing-dark-money\/\">include<\/a>\u00a0the Sixteen Thirty Fund,\u00a0Windward Fund,\u00a0and\u00a0Hopewell Fund.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><strong>The financial web, however, goes far beyond those connections. The political group American Bridge, which was founded by David Brock \u2014 a close ally of the Clintons and founder of Media Matters for America \u2014 is also involved in the overarching efforts to spread misinformation on President Trump\u2019s response to the coronavirus and further politicize the crisis.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><strong>\u201cAmerican Bridge\u2019s network of nonprofits received funding in 2018 from\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.scribd.com\/document\/436821015\/New-Venture-Fund-2018-tax-forms\">New Venture Fund<\/a>, as well as another Arabella group called\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/static.politico.com\/4b\/32\/19c3670b41dfa1f8c1b3e0972138\/2018-1630-form990.pdf\">Sixteen Thirty Fund<\/a>,\u201d\u00a0Americans for Public Trust reports.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><strong>The<em> Post<\/em> notes that American Bridge has been running political advertisements on Trump\u2019s response to the crisis in key swing states \u2014 Michigan, Wisconsin, and Pennsylvania. According to the <em>Post<\/em>, the group signaled that more was coming, including an ad focusing on \u201c\u2018Trump\u2019s incompetence,\u2019 including \u2018clips of Trump himself downplaying the crisis.&#8217;\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><strong>\u201cOur job is to hold Donald Trump accountable, and we have no plans to let up, particularly with a focus on economic issues as we\u2019ve done to date,\u201d American Bridge President\u00a0Bradley Beychok said, according to the outlet.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><strong>He added that the group is \u201cnot going to give him [Trump] a pass for bungling the government\u2019s response to this pandemic.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>This PAC is not helping anyone. At a time when reliable information is critical, this group, along with their allies in the mainstream media, are spreading fake news. I posted three stories (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.rightwinggranny.com\/?p=38411\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">here<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rightwinggranny.com\/?p=38403\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">here<\/a>, and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rightwinggranny.com\/?p=38376\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">here<\/a>) in the past week that cited misreporting by the media regarding the coronavirus. All three stories were inaccurate and framed in a way to make either the President or the Republicans look bad.
