The Federalist<\/a> posted an article today that asks an interesting question–“If Bloomberg Couldn\u2019t Buy 2020, How Could Russia Buy 2016?”<\/a><\/p>\n

The article quotes The Federalist Senior Editor Mollie Hemingway:<\/p>\n

\u201cWe had years where people were saying a couple hundred thousand dollars in barely literate Facebook ads from Russians caused Donald Trump to win. Here you had a guy spend nearly $1 billion and he went nowhere. It\u2019s a humiliating defeat for Michael Bloomberg,\u201d she said.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Host Bret Baier drilled the point home: \u201cSo Russians influenced the election with $200,000, or $300,000 in Facebook ads? And Mike Bloomberg couldn\u2019t get more than 50 delegates with $600 million dollars?\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u201cAnd this hurts Bernie Sanders\u2019s message, too, because he likes to say the billionaires control everything,\u201d Hemingway said. \u201cClearly Bloomberg having all this money didn\u2019t do as much for him as Biden having the media and the establishment behind him. I would pick media and establishment over millions all day.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n

If money could buy elections, we would have either President Jeb Bush or President Hillary Clinton. American voters do respond to ads, but they also have common sense.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
