There was a certain lack of civility on display yesterday in the way Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi treated veteran journalist James Rosen of Sinclair.<\/p>\n

And yet as we can all observe, many of the accoutrements surrounding the legal process are inherent in this political process: We have counsels, depositions, subpoenas, threats of perjury, so forth,\u201d he said.<\/strong><\/p>\n \u201cThis was made starkly clear yesterday by Chairman Schiff, who, it seemed to me, when he reminded the minority that he would do everything necessary to ensure the legal rights of the whistleblower to preserve anonymity in this political setting.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n \u201cAnd so I wonder,\u201d Rosen continued, \u201cif you could explain to the American people why the legal rights of the whistleblower should prevail in this political setting over those of President Trump, who should ordinarily enjoy a right to confront his accuser.\u201d<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n Despite this being a valid point that\u2019s also been broached by legal experts<\/a>, Your Highness immediately snapped.<\/strong><\/p>\n \u201cI will say this to you, Mr. Republican Talking Points,\u00a0when you talk about the whistleblower, we\u2019re coming into my wheelhouse<\/em>,\u201d she angrily declared.<\/strong><\/p>\n \u201cI have more experience in intelligence than anybody in Congress, than anybody who has ever served, 25 years on the committee as top Democrat. I was there when we wrote the whistleblower laws. The whistleblower is there to speak truth to power and have protection for doing that.
