The Center for Security Policy<\/a> posted an article today with the headline, “\u2018Thank God for the deep state\u2019: Former CIA chief says anti-Trump forces \u2018responding to a higher call.\u2019”<\/p>\n

Wow. The deep state believes that it is their job to overthrow a duly-elected President. What manner of pride and self-importance (and treason) is this?<\/p>\n

The article reports:<\/p>\n

Former CIA acting Director John McLaughlin expressed his gratitude for the \u201cdeep state\u201d and their effort to get President Trump impeached.<\/strong><\/p>\n

McLaughlin<\/a>, who was the acting director in 2004, embraced the idea of a \u201cdeep state<\/a>\u201d with the intent of ending the Trump presidency at an event on Wednesday hosted by the Hayden Center.<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u201cThere is something unique you have to agree that now the impeachment inquiry is underway, sparked by a complaint from someone within the intelligence community, it feeds the president\u2019s concern, an often-used term about a \u2018deep state\u2019 being there to take him out,\u201d Margaret Brennan, the moderator for the event hosted, asked McLaughlin.<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u201cThank God for the \u2018deep state,\u2019\u201d he responded.<\/strong><\/p>\n

McLaughlin went on to praise the intelligence community whistleblower who\u00a0came forward to file a complaint<\/a>\u00a0regarding\u00a0Trump\u2019s July 25 phone call<\/a>\u00a0with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, which led to the\u00a0impeachment proceedings<\/a>\u00a0that are currently going on in the House of Representatives.<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u201cEveryone here has seen this progression of diplomats and intelligence officers and White House people trooping up to Capitol Hill right now and saying these are people who are doing their duty, who are responding to a higher call,\u201d said McLaughlin. \u201cWith all of the people who knew what was going on here, it took an intelligence officer to step forward and say something about it, which was the trigger that unleashed everything else.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n

They are not responding to a higher call–they are undermining an elected President. They are not the Commander-in-Chief. They did not run for office and win an election. They are delusional to believe that they should have more power than the President just because he is upsetting their apple cart. In a world where we had an objective media and equal justice under the law, these people would be tried for treason.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
