Newsbusters<\/a> posted an article today about the reporting on some recent embellished stories told by Joe Biden.<\/p>\n

The article reports:<\/p>\n

Apparently, the truth and the accuracy of details meant little to the so-called \u201cpowerhouse roundtable\u201d on ABC\u2019s This Week<\/em>. During the latter half of the Sunday show, the panel defended former Vice President Joe Biden after The Washington Post<\/em> exposed that a war story Biden had been telling for years was actually a tall tale.<\/strong><\/p>\n

But it wasn\u2019t entirely false. As The Post <\/em>explained and ABC rationalized on Thursday<\/a>, Biden created the story by conflating several real events into a, sort of, Frankenstein\u2019s monster designed to tug on the heartstrings of listeners. According to The Post<\/em>, \u201cBiden got the time period, the location, the heroic act, the type of medal, the military branch and the rank of the recipient wrong, as well as his own role in the ceremony.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n

But the facts be damned on ABC News.<\/strong><\/p>\n

First up was ABC political director Rick Klein, who said the story \u201cshows the best of Joe Biden<\/em> and the worst of Joe Biden. It’s him connecting and telling a really compelling story.<\/em> It\u2019s also him sanding away the edges and conflating things and maybe confusing details.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n

The thing that is amazing about the above statement is that if your grandfather was ‘sanding away the edges and conflating things and maybe confusing details,’ you would probably have him checked for dementia. I really wonder if Joe Biden is going to be the Democrat nominee for President. I wonder if by some miracle he is the candidate, is he up for the task?<\/p>\n

The article continues:<\/p>\n

Washington Post<\/em> national correspondent Mary Jordan was flippant about her own paper\u2019s reporting on Biden\u2019s latest gaffe. She suggested the voters she was talking too were telling her: \u201cCome on, let’s focus on the big stuff<\/em>, it’s the economy and the character of the leader and the character of the country that we want going forward\u201d.<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u201cAnd that’s what they’re saying. It’s big time. It’s big stuff that we care about. It\u2019s not about the stories<\/em>,\u201d she concluded.<\/strong><\/p>\n

As Klein\u2019s argument showed, it\u2019s a double standard with it came to Democratic candidates and President Trump. If it was Trump telling Biden\u2019s tale, then the media would be running story after story about him intentionally \u201cgaslighting\u201d America. Perhaps that\u2019s why the news story wasn\u2019t \u201cresonating\u201d.<\/strong><\/p>\n

I guess we are going to find out if American voters are willing to elect a candidate who the friendly media admits doesn’t even tell the truth when he is running.<\/p>\n
