{"id":36928,"date":"2019-08-30T12:31:00","date_gmt":"2019-08-30T16:31:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.rightwinggranny.com\/?p=36928"},"modified":"2019-08-30T12:31:00","modified_gmt":"2019-08-30T16:31:00","slug":"more-corrections-for-falsely-reporting-information","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.rightwinggranny.com\/?p=36928","title":{"rendered":"More Corrections For Falsely Reporting Information"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Yesterday <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2019\/08\/29\/nbc-correction-citizenship-military-children-abroad\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">The Daily Caller<\/a> posted an article about another fake news story that created a false impression.<\/p>\n<p>The article reports:<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><strong>After initially reporting that new guidelines could potentially deny \u201cbirthright citizenship\u201d to the children of American military members abroad, NBC followed up with a major correction.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><strong>Initial reports on the new policy from U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services focused almost entirely on one line from the guidance, namely that the Department of Homeland Security \u201cno longer considers children of U.S. government employees and U.S. armed forces members residing outside the United States as \u2018residing in the United States\u2019 for purposes of acquiring citizenship.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><strong>After a more careful reading of the policy, however, NBC\u2019s Ken Dilanian offered a <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2018\/10\/14\/nbc-correct-trump-robert-e-lee-tweet\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">correction<\/a> noting that the policy would apply to children <em>adopted\u00a0<\/em>by American military and government employees overseas.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Candidate Joe Biden lost no time in trying to benefit from the false report.
