{"id":36318,"date":"2019-06-12T15:08:52","date_gmt":"2019-06-12T19:08:52","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.rightwinggranny.com\/?p=36318"},"modified":"2019-06-12T15:08:52","modified_gmt":"2019-06-12T19:08:52","slug":"the-proof-is-in-the-emails","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.rightwinggranny.com\/?p=36318","title":{"rendered":"The Proof Is In The Emails"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.judicialwatch.org\/press-room\/press-releases\/judicial-watch-state-department-emails-show-coordination-between-obama-state-department-and-house-democrat-leader-on-christopher-steele-russia\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Judicial Watch<\/a> released the following Press Release today:<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"CWH2SP\" style=\"padding-left: 40px;\">Judicial Watch: State Department Emails Show Coordination Between Obama State Department and House Democrat Leader on Christopher Steele\/Russia<\/h2>\n<p class=\"cwdate\" style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><strong>JUNE 12, 2019<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><strong><em>\u2018You\u2019ve been a warrior on these issues, and I look forward to speaking further to preserve and wherever possible strengthen the important work you have done\u2019 \u2013 Hoyer aide Daniel Silverberg to Victoria Nuland<\/em><\/strong><strong><em>\u00a0<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><strong>(Washington, DC) Judicial Watch and the Daily Caller News Foundation today released <a href=\"https:\/\/www.judicialwatch.org\/document-archive\/jw-dcnf-v-doj-steele-orbis-00968\/\">16 pages<\/a> of documents revealing former Assistant Secretary of State Victoria Nuland and Special Coordinator for Libya Jonathan Winer coordinating with then-House Minority Whip Steny Hoyer\u2019s (D-MD) national security advisor, Daniel Silverberg to work on Russia dossier materials provided by Christopher Steele.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><strong>Steele is a former British spy and author of the anti-Trump dossier used to justify a series of FISA spy warrants targeting Carter Page. Winer is a former Obama State Department deputy assistant secretary who <a class=\"extl\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/opinions\/devin-nunes-is-investigating-me-heres-the-truth\/2018\/02\/08\/cc621170-0cf4-11e8-8b0d-891602206fb7_story.html?noredirect=on&amp;utm_term=.50b2d988f6ec\">was implicated<\/a> in working with Steele and Clinton associate Sidney Blumenthal to circulate the anti-Trump dossier.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><strong>Judicial Watch obtained the documents in a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA)\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.judicialwatch.org\/press-room\/press-releases\/judicial-watch-daily-caller-news-foundation-sue-doj-comey-memos-conversations-obama-clinton-schumer\/\">lawsuit<\/a>\u00a0filed on April 25, 2018 on behalf of itself and the Daily Caller News Foundation against the State Department after it failed to respond to three separate FOIA requests (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.judicialwatch.org\/document-archive\/jw-dcnf-v-state-steele-obama-admin-complaint-00968\/\"><em>Judicial Watch v. U.S. Department of State<\/em><\/a>\u00a0(No. 1:18-cv- 00968)). The lawsuit seeks:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>All records of communications between State Department officials, including former Secretary of State John Kerry, former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, and Assistant Secretary of State Victoria Nuland, on the one hand, and British National Christopher Steele and\/or employees or contractors of Steele\u2019s company, Orbis Business Intelligence, on the other hand.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>All records and\/or memoranda provided by Christopher Steele and\/or his firm Orbis Business Intelligence or by others acting on Steele\u2019s\/Orbis\u2019s behalf, to State Department officials.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Any and all records in the custody of the State Department related to the provision of documents to British national Christopher Steele and\/or his firm, Orbis Business Intelligence, or the receipt of documents from Steele or his firm.\u00a0 Time period is January 20, 2009 through the present.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>All records created in 2016 by Jonathan M. Winer relating to research compiled by Christopher Steele.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><strong>In <a href=\"https:\/\/www.judicialwatch.org\/document-archive\/jw-dcnf-v-doj-steele-orbis-00968-pg-10\/\">an email<\/a> exchange on September 19, 2016, Glenn Simpson of Fusion GPS asks Winer if he is \u201cin town?\u201d Winer replies \u201cFor a couple of hours.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><strong>In <a href=\"https:\/\/www.judicialwatch.org\/document-archive\/jw-dcnf-v-doj-steele-orbis-00968-pg-11-12\/\">an email exchange<\/a> on September 26, 2016, Winer emails Nuland asking for \u201c15 minutes of your time today if possible,\u201d to discuss a \u201cRussia related issue\u201d from his \u201cold O [<a href=\"https:\/\/www.judicialwatch.org\/press-room\/press-releases\/judicial-watch-releases-state-department-emails-showing-dossier-author-christopher-steeles-close-relationship-with-state-department\/\">Orbis Business Intelligence<\/a>] friend.\u201d Orbis was co-founded and run by Russia dossier author Christopher Steele. Nuland\u2019s assistant suggests a secure call for the discussion and Winer asks his aide to postpone a meeting he was to have with the State Department Bureau of Intelligence and Research (INR) to accommodate.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><strong>In <a href=\"https:\/\/www.judicialwatch.org\/document-archive\/jw-dcnf-v-doj-steele-orbis-00968-pg-15-17\/\">an exchange<\/a> beginning in November 2016, Hoyer top-aide Silverberg emails a \u201cthank you\u201d to Nuland, calling her a \u201cwarrior on these issues\u201d and stating that he looks forward to pursuing \u201csome of the things we discussed yesterday, albeit on the system integrity side.\u201d Nuland forwards this email to Winer who adds that he wants to talk about \u201csome new info.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><strong>From: Silverberg, Daniel [mailto:Daniel.Silverberg@mail.house.gov]<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Sent: Monday, November 28, 2016 10:57 PM<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>To: Nuland, Victoria J<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Subject: Thank you<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><strong>Toria,<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><strong>It was a delight to speak today, notwithstanding the context. Winer\u2019s assistant then emails Nuland\u2019s assistant looking for a time to meet.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><strong>In February 2018, Winer wrote an <a class=\"extl\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/opinions\/devin-nunes-is-investigating-me-heres-the-truth\/2018\/02\/08\/cc621170-0cf4-11e8-8b0d-891602206fb7_story.html?utm_term=.a2d4ca469a30\">op-ed<\/a> claiming anti-Trump dossier author Christopher Steele and Clinton confidant Sidney Blumenthal approached him with separate dossiers. Winer wrote: \u201cIn the summer of 2016, Steele told me that he had learned of disturbing information regarding possible ties between Donald Trump, his campaign and senior Russian officials.\u201d Also, \u201cWhile talking about that hacking, Blumenthal and I discussed Steele\u2019s reports. He showed me notes gathered by a journalist I did not know \u2026\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><strong>\u201cEvery day of digging reveals more and more political collaboration on this hit job, and at the highest levels. While so much of the media is content to chase Russian conspiracies, The Daily Caller News Foundation and the fantastic lawyers at Judicial Watch are going to keep doing the hard work of holding power accountable,\u201d said Christopher Bedford, editor in chief of the Daily Caller News Foundation.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><strong>\u201cThese documents further confirm the Obama State Department was obviously a way station for Steele\u2019s smear dossier and other anti-Trump activism,\u201d said Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><strong>Judicial Watch recently released\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.judicialwatch.org\/press-room\/press-releases\/judicial-watch-releases-state-department-emails-showing-dossier-author-christopher-steeles-close-relationship-with-state-department\/\">43 pages<\/a>\u00a0of documents from the State Department revealing that its \u201cSpecial Coordinator for Libya,\u201d Jonathan Winer, played a key role in facilitating Steele\u2019s access to other top government officials, prominent international business executives. Winer was even approached by a movie producer about making a movie about the Russiagate targeting of President Trump.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><strong>Judicial Watch <a href=\"https:\/\/www.judicialwatch.org\/press-room\/press-releases\/judicial-watch-documents-reveal-obama-state-department-urgently-provided-classified-russiagate-documents-to-multiple-senators-immediately-ahead-of-trump-inauguration\/\">previously released<\/a> two sets of heavily redacted State Department documents showing classified information was researched and disseminated to multiple U.S. Senators by the Obama administration immediately prior to President Donald Trump\u2019s inauguration. The documents reveal that among those receiving the classified documents were Sen. Mark Warner (D-VA), Sen. Ben Cardin (D-MD), and Sen. Robert Corker (R-TN).<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><strong>Also, Judicial Watch is <a href=\"https:\/\/www.judicialwatch.org\/press-room\/press-releases\/judicial-watch-sues-state-department-for-obama-ambassador-victoria-nulands-communications-related-to-the-anti-trump-dossier\/\">suing<\/a> the State Department for communications between Nuland and employees of Fusion GPS, as well as top ranking Department of Justice, FBI, and State Department officials.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Stay tuned.
