The group is known for its anti-Trump stance, but a little research shows that there is more to the picture.<\/p>\n<p>The article reports:<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><strong>A prominent \u2018Republican&#8217; women&#8217;s political action committee that regularly <a href=\"https:\/\/gopwomenforprogress.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">receives<\/a> national media attention for its criticisms of President Donald Trump and the GOP is bankrolled by three liberal billionaire donors and activists, Federal Election Commission filings show.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><strong>Republican Women for Progress, a Washington, D.C.-based nonprofit, was founded by Jennifer Lim and Meghan Milloy, both former employees of Republican organizations. The duo also previously <a href=\"https:\/\/gopwomenforprogress.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">founded<\/a> Republican Women for Hillary and spoke at the Democratic National Convention in the past.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Most Republican groups don&#8217;t receive or accept invitations to speak at the Democratic National Convention.<\/p>\n<p>The article explains some of the background of this group:<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><strong>The Republican Women for Progress PAC was established on Sept. 13 to back their work during the midterm elections, which included throwing more than <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fec.gov\/data\/independent-expenditures\/?committee_id=C00687459&amp;two_year_transaction_period=2018&amp;cycle=2018&amp;data_type=processed&amp;is_notice=true\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">$800,000<\/a> into independent expenditures supporting Democratic candidates in New Jersey, Kentucky, Michigan, and California. The group also <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bustle.com\/p\/republican-women-for-progress-say-kavanaughs-diminished-credibility-means-he-shouldnt-be-confirmed-12028453\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">came out<\/a> in opposition of Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh&#8217;s confirmation.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><strong>The only donor to the women&#8217;s PAC following its launch was Reid Hoffman, the co-founder of LinkedIn, who <a href=\"https:\/\/freebeacon.com\/politics\/gop-womens-group-attacking-trump-funded-solely-by-male-democratic-donor\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">cut a $400,000<\/a> check to the PAC.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><strong>&#8230;The PAC pulled in an <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fec.gov\/data\/receipts\/?two_year_transaction_period=2018&amp;data_type=processed&amp;committee_id=C00687459&amp;min_date=01%2F01%2F2017&amp;max_date=12%2F14%2F2018\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">additional<\/a> $200,000 from Kathryn Murdoch, the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.climatecentral.org\/what-we-do\/people\/kathryn-murdoch\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">progressive<\/a> activist daughter-in-law of media mogul Rupert Murdoch, and $400,000 from Daniel Tierney, the president of Wicklow Capital, a Chicago-based investment firm, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fec.gov\/data\/receipts\/?two_year_transaction_period=2018&amp;data_type=processed&amp;committee_id=C00687459&amp;min_date=01%2F01%2F2017&amp;max_date=12%2F14%2F2018\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">filings<\/a> show.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><strong>Both <a href=\"https:\/\/www.opensecrets.org\/donor-lookup\/results?name=Kathryn+Murdoch+\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Murdoch<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.opensecrets.org\/donor-lookup\/results?name=Daniel+Tierney\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Tierney<\/a> are major donors to Democratic campaigns and PACs.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>If you are not an informed voter, you would think this group was representative of Republican women&#8211;that Republican women do not support President Trump or his policies. Most &#8216;real&#8217; Republican women understand the good that President Trump has done for women economically and in other areas and support his Presidency and his policies.
