{"id":3407,"date":"2011-08-19T14:15:21","date_gmt":"2011-08-19T18:15:21","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.rightwinggranny.com\/?p=3407"},"modified":"2011-08-19T14:15:21","modified_gmt":"2011-08-19T18:15:21","slug":"the-cost-of-green-for-the-consumer","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.rightwinggranny.com\/?p=3407","title":{"rendered":"The Cost Of &#8216;Green&#8217; For The Consumer"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Yesterday <a href=\"http:\/\/www.cnsnews.com\/news\/article\/obama-fuel-economy-regs-can-cause-vehicl\">CNS News<\/a>\u00a0reported that the\u00a0Center for Automotive Research has released a study stating that the Obama Administration&#8217;s new fuel economy standards will result in a retail price increase for the average car of $11,000.<\/p>\n<p>The article reports:<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><strong>Zoe Lipman, the National Wildlife Federation\u2019s Senior Manager for Transportation and Global Warming Solutions argued on a conference call held Thursday that the estimated fuel savings due to these standards will outweigh the <a href=\"http:\/\/blog.nwf.org\/wildlifepromise\/2011\/08\/double-your-own-fuel-economy\/\">\u201cmodest\u201d motor vehicle price increases<\/a> for consumers.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>I pointed out in a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rightwinggranny.com\/?p=3308\">story<\/a> Tuesday that there are some valid questions as to whether or not these new fuel standards are being legally implemented. CAFE standards have been set by Congress&#8211;not by the executive branch. There are also some valid questions as to whether or not global warming is man-made.
