{"id":33559,"date":"2018-06-02T19:40:11","date_gmt":"2018-06-02T23:40:11","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.rightwinggranny.com\/?p=33559"},"modified":"2018-06-02T19:40:11","modified_gmt":"2018-06-02T23:40:11","slug":"doing-the-job-the-media-has-forgotten-how-to-do","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.rightwinggranny.com\/?p=33559","title":{"rendered":"Doing The Job The Media Has Forgotten How To Do"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>On Thursday, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.judicialwatch.org\/press-room\/press-releases\/judicial-watch-fights-state-department-full-accounting-clinton-related-emails-anthony-weiners-laptop\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Judicial Watch<\/a> posted the following:<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"CWH2SP\" style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><a title=\"Judicial Watch Fights State Department for Full Accounting of Clinton-Related Emails on Anthony Weiner\u2019s Laptop - Judicial Watch\" href=\"https:\/\/www.judicialwatch.org\/press-room\/press-releases\/judicial-watch-fights-state-department-full-accounting-clinton-related-emails-anthony-weiners-laptop\/\">Judicial Watch Fights State Department for Full Accounting of Clinton-Related Emails on Anthony Weiner\u2019s Laptop<\/a><\/h2>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><strong><em>State claims only 3,000 of the \u2018hundreds of thousands\u2019 of emails were agency records \u2013 but has not released information on how they reviewed them or how they made that determination<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><strong>(Washington, DC)<\/strong> <strong>\u2013 Judicial Watch announced today that it is <a href=\"https:\/\/www.judicialwatch.org\/document-archive\/jw-v-state-weiner-laptop-opposition-00684\/\">fighting<\/a> the State Department for a full production of records responsive to a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) lawsuit for the emails found by the FBI on Anthony Weiner\u2019s laptop. According to then-FBI Director James Comey, Weiner\u2019s laptop contained \u201chundreds of thousands\u201d of emails of former Secretary Clinton.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><strong>Weiner is an ex-Congressman and the incarcerated husband of former Clinton top aide Huma Abedin. He was convicted of having sexually explicit communications with teenage girls. In October 2016, <a class=\"extl\" href=\"http:\/\/wnep.com\/2016\/10\/31\/hillary-clinton-emails-how-the-fbis-investigation-may-affect-2016-presidential-race\/\">FBI investigators<\/a> from its New York field office discovered Abedin\u2019s emails on Weiner\u2019s laptop, including data indicating the emails went through Clinton\u2019s \u201cprivate\u201d non-\u201cstate.gov\u201d email system.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><strong>The court filing comes in May 2015\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.judicialwatch.org\/press-room\/press-releases\/judicial-watch-files-seven-new-foia-lawsuits-against-state-department-to-force-release-of-clinton-emails-other-secret-email-records\/\">lawsuit<\/a>\u00a0Judicial Watch filed against the State Department (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.judicialwatch.org\/document-archive\/jw-v-state-00684-abedin-non-state-emails\/\"><em>Judicial Watch, Inc. v. U.S. Department of State<\/em><\/a>\u00a0(No.\u00a01:15-cv-00684)). Judicial Watch sued after the State Department failed to respond to a March 2015 FOIA request seeking:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>All emails of official State Department business received or sent by former Deputy Chief of Staff Huma Abedin from January 1, 2009 through February 1, 2013 using a non-\u2018state.gov\u2019 email address.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><strong>In an April 15, 2018, <a class=\"extl\" href=\"https:\/\/abcnews.go.com\/Site\/transcript-james-comeys-interview-abc-news-chief-anchor\/story?id=54488723\">interview<\/a> with George Stephanopoulos, former FBI Director James Comey stated that there were \u201chundreds of thousands\u201d of Hillary Clinton-related emails that had been found \u201con Anthony Weiner\u2019s laptop\u201d in its investigation of the Clinton email scandal.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><strong>In fighting the State Department\u2019s effort to close the case, Judicial Watch refers to the State Department claim that only 3,000 of those \u201chundreds of thousands\u201d are agency records and 147 total emails were unique agency records. Judicial Watch argues that the State Department has not released information on the total number of emails that they reviewed, how they reviewed them, how many emails were personal and not agency records and how the agency would have made those determinations.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><strong>Again, all we know is that the FBI provided an unspecified number of emails to [the State Department], that [the State Department] reviewed the emails, and that [the State Department] identified 3,000 emails that contained evidence of [the State Department\u2019s] activities. [The State Department] has not even attempted to explain the discrepancy between the \u201chundreds of thousands\u201d of emails identified by ex-Director Comey and the mere 3,000 emails identified by [the State Department]. At this late point in the Secretary Clinton email saga, [the State Department] should not get the benefit of the doubt.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><strong>This filing is part of Judicial Watch\u2019s extensive and ongoing investigation into the Hillary Clinton email scandal. The investigation has produced numerous examples of Clinton using her non-\u201cstate.gov\u201d email system to transmit classified information.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><strong>Judicial Watch\u2019s April 2014 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.judicialwatch.org\/press-room\/press-releases\/judicial-watch-benghazi-documents-point-white-house-misleading-talking-points\/\">pivotal revelation<\/a> of the Benghazi talking points originating in the Obama White House brought about the May 2014 formation of the House Benghazi Committee. In February 2015 the State Department admitted to the court that it needed to make \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.judicialwatch.org\/document-archive\/jw-v-state-additional-sources-hrc-emails-01242\/\">additional searches<\/a>\u201d of Benghazi-related material. In March 2015 Clinton admitted to using a non-government email system.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><strong>In\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.judicialwatch.org\/press-room\/press-releases\/judicial-watch-new-clinton-emails-uncovered-reveal-additional-mishandling-classified-information\/\">September 2017<\/a>\u00a0Judicial Watch made public <a href=\"https:\/\/www.judicialwatch.org\/document-archive\/tag\/huma-production-20\/\">1,617 new pages<\/a>\u00a0of documents from the State Department revealing numerous additional examples of classified information being transmitted through Abedin\u2019s unsecure, non-state.gov account, as well as many instances of Clinton donors receiving special favors from the State Department.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><strong>On January 4, 2018, Judicial Watch <a href=\"https:\/\/www.judicialwatch.org\/press-room\/press-releases\/judicial-watch-least-18-classified-emails-found-weiners-laptop\/\">revealed<\/a> that at least\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.judicialwatch.org\/document-archive\/tag\/weiner-classified\/\">18 classified emails<\/a>\u00a0in a total of\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.judicialwatch.org\/document-archive\/tag\/abedin-duplicate-emails\/\">798 documents<\/a>\u00a0produced by the State Department from the FBI\u2019s investigation into former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton\u2019s illicit email system were found on Anthony Weiner\u2019s laptop. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.judicialwatch.org\/document-archive\/tag\/abedin-duplicates\/\">Thirteen emails<\/a>\u00a0contained classified information and discussions about Saudi Arabia, The Hague, Egypt, South Africa, Zimbabwe, the identity of a CIA official, Malawi, the war in Syria, Lebanon, Hamas, and the PLO.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><strong>On <a href=\"https:\/\/www.judicialwatch.org\/press-room\/press-releases\/judicial-watch-new-documents-reveal-instances-classified-information-hillary-clintons-unsecure-non-state-gov-system\/\">January 19, 2018<\/a>, Judicial Watch released\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.judicialwatch.org\/document-archive\/jw-v-state-jan-2018-records-00687\/\">78 pages<\/a>\u00a0of new documents from State Department containing emails of former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton sent and received over her unsecure, non-\u201cstate.gov\u201d email system.
