{"id":3352,"date":"2011-08-17T13:48:25","date_gmt":"2011-08-17T17:48:25","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.rightwinggranny.com\/?p=3352"},"modified":"2011-08-17T13:48:25","modified_gmt":"2011-08-17T17:48:25","slug":"the-global-warming-hoax","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.rightwinggranny.com\/?p=3352","title":{"rendered":"The Global Warming Hoax"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>On Monday, John Hinderaker at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.powerlineblog.com\/archives\/2011\/08\/the-global-warming-hoax-in-charts.php\">Power Line<\/a>\u00a0posted an article titled, &#8220;The Global Warming Hoax In Charts.&#8221; I am not scientifically inclined enough to understand exactly what the charts show, but it is obvious that climate change is not solely dependent on carbon dioxide levels.<\/p>\n<p>This chart shows the relationship between ocean temperatures and the earth&#8217;s temperature:<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/pl-mgroup-akamai.powerlineblog.com\/admin\/ed-assets\/2011\/08\/Bastardi-PDOAMO-correlation.gif\" alt=\"\" width=\"496\" height=\"372\" \/><\/p>\n<p>This chart shows the relationship between carbon dioxide and temperatures:<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" title=\"Bastardi-CO2Temp\" src=\"http:\/\/pl-mgroup-akamai.powerlineblog.com\/admin\/ed-assets\/2011\/08\/Bastardi-CO2Temp.gif\" alt=\"\" width=\"512\" height=\"384\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The article concludes:<\/p>\n<div id=\"post-26966\">\n<div>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><strong>Even a casual investigation reveals that carbon dioxide levels are not the driver of global temperatures. Rather, a combination of solar activity and other earthly phenomena, most notably cycles associated with the oceans, explain the rise and fall of global temperatures that have gone on for millenia.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Even my unscientific mind tells me that the first chart shows a closer relationship than the second.
