The article reports that recently <a class=\"zem_slink\" title=\"Democratic Party (United States)\" href=\"http:\/\/senate.gov\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"homepage noopener\">Democrats<\/a> had claimed that Scott Pruitt asked his staff to establish a new <a class=\"zem_slink\" title=\"United States Environmental Protection Agency\" href=\"http:\/\/www.epa.gov\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"homepage noopener\">EPA<\/a> office in <a class=\"zem_slink\" title=\"Tulsa, Oklahoma\" href=\"http:\/\/maps.google.com\/maps?ll=36.1313888889,-95.9372222222&amp;spn=0.1,0.1&amp;q=36.1313888889,-95.9372222222 (Tulsa%2C%20Oklahoma)&amp;t=h\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"geolocation noopener\">Tulsa, Oklahoma<\/a> (his home town). This was characterized as a misuse of taxpayer dollars. The House Democrats stated, \u201cThis most recent case of questionable financial management adds to the growing concerns about Administrator Pruitt\u2019s misuse of taxpayers\u2019 funds and potential ethical lapses in judgement.&#8221; The Daily Caller News Foundation (DCNF) investigated and found out that this was a total misrepresentation of the actual events.<\/p>\n<p>The article reports:<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><strong>EPA officials asked questions about how Pruitt could periodically work from his hometown, Tulsa, in a way consistent with past administrators, utilizing existing office setups or working with federal officials to find suitable <a class=\"zem_slink\" title=\"Office Space (Special Edition with Flair!) [Blu-ray]\" href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/Office-Space-Special-Flair-Blu-ray\/dp\/B001JNNDEW%3FSubscriptionId%3D0G81C5DAZ03ZR9WH9X82%26tag%3Dzem-20%26linkCode%3Dxm2%26camp%3D2025%26creative%3D165953%26creativeASIN%3DB001JNNDEW\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"amazon noopener\">office space<\/a>, emails show.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><strong>Pruitt is under fire for alleged overspending and ethical lapses, including flying first class at taxpayers\u2019 expense and renting a room from the wife of a D.C. lobbyist. Congress and EPA\u2019s Office of Inspector General have investigations into Pruitt\u2019s actions.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><strong>House Democrats are claiming Pruitt wanted to put his own convenience over taxpayers\u2019 money by establishing an EPA office in his hometown.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><strong>Democrats based their claim on emails from EPA officials, including <a class=\"zem_slink\" title=\"Chief of staff\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Chief_of_staff\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener wikipedia\">Chief of Staff<\/a> Ryan Jackson, who at the time was still working for the <a class=\"zem_slink\" title=\"United States Senate Committee on Environment and Public Works\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/United_States_Senate_Committee_on_Environment_and_Public_Works\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener wikipedia\">Senate Committee on Environment and Public Works<\/a>.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Daily Caller notes that the Democrats never disclosed how they discovered the emails and did not release the emails to the public.<\/p>\n<p>The article explains exactly what the emails were about:<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><strong>The DCNF obtained emails that likely encompassed those cited by Democrats based on descriptions detailed in their letters to EPA and <a class=\"zem_slink\" title=\"General Services Administration\" href=\"http:\/\/www.gsa.gov\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"homepage noopener\">GSA<\/a>. Democrats\u2019 letter described two emails sent in January and February of 2017.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><strong>What the emails do show is Pruitt asked Jackson \u201cwhere he could work\u201d while home in <a class=\"zem_slink\" title=\"Oklahoma\" href=\"http:\/\/maps.google.com\/maps?ll=35.5,-98.0&amp;spn=3.0,3.0&amp;q=35.5,-98.0 (Oklahoma)&amp;t=h\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"geolocation noopener\">Oklahoma<\/a>.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><strong>Emails sent primarily between Jackson and Senior Policy Advisor James Blizzard show the two working to find Pruitt office space to rent while he was in Oklahoma, where his family and permanent residence are.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><strong>Jackson asked Senior Policy Advisor James Blizzard if the Office of Administration and Resources Management and GSA \u201ccould put their heads together and get something prepared for him.\u201d Blizzard provided Jackson with a solution in a follow-up email sent Jan. 31, 2017.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><strong>Pruitt would need an \u201cepisodic telework agreement\u201d so he could periodically conduct official business while in Tulsa, Blizzard said. Former EPA Administrator <a class=\"zem_slink\" title=\"Gina McCarthy\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Gina_McCarthy\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener wikipedia\">Gina McCarthy<\/a> has a similar arrangement, Blizzard suggested.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Lied to again by the mainstream media.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Yesterday The Daily Caller posted an article debunking some of the recent attacks on Scott Pruitt.
