{"id":33280,"date":"2018-05-01T17:34:14","date_gmt":"2018-05-01T21:34:14","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.rightwinggranny.com\/?p=33280"},"modified":"2018-05-01T17:34:14","modified_gmt":"2018-05-01T21:34:14","slug":"the-lies-just-keep-on-coming","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.rightwinggranny.com\/?p=33280","title":{"rendered":"The Lies Just Keep On Coming"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/big-government\/2018\/05\/01\/mueller-question-trump-ukraine-based-debunked-conspiracy-theory\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Breitbart<\/a> posted a story today about The <a class=\"zem_slink\" title=\"New York Times\" href=\"http:\/\/www.newyorktimes.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"homepage noopener\">New York Times&#8217;<\/a> leak of the questions that <a class=\"zem_slink\" title=\"Robert Mueller\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Robert_Mueller\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener wikipedia\">Robert Mueller<\/a> supposedly plans to ask President Trump. Hopefully President Trump will tell Robert Mueller to go pound sand. But, in case he doesn&#8217;t, there is an interesting back story on one of the questions. I really wonder if these are current questions, because they seem to be seeking evidence of Russian collusion with the <a class=\"zem_slink\" title=\"Donald Trump presidential campaign, 2016\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Donald_Trump_presidential_campaign%2C_2016\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener wikipedia\">Trump campaign<\/a>. All reliable sources have stated that never happened&#8211;the Congressional report was recently released. But evidently Mueller is still looking.<\/p>\n<p>One of the questions leaked is &#8220;<strong>What involvement did you have concerning platform changes regarding arming Ukraine?<\/strong>&#8221; Well, there is a presupposition there that is false. As the Breitbart article explains:<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><strong>The conspiracy theory was debunked by\u00a0<em><a class=\"zem_slink\" title=\"Washington Examiner\" href=\"http:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"homepage noopener\">Washington Examiner<\/a><\/em> columnist <a class=\"zem_slink\" title=\"Byron York\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Byron_York\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener wikipedia\">Byron York<\/a> in an extensive investigative <a class=\"x5l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/byron-york-how-pundits-got-key-part-of-trump-russia-story-all-wrong\/article\/2617802\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener external\">article<\/a> in March 2017 titled, \u201cHow pundits got key part of Trump-<a class=\"zem_slink\" title=\"Russia\" href=\"http:\/\/maps.google.com\/maps?ll=55.75,37.6166666667&amp;spn=0.1,0.1&amp;q=55.75,37.6166666667 (Russia)&amp;t=h\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"geolocation noopener\">Russia<\/a> story all wrong.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><strong>York explained that the Republican platform not only retained its criticisms of Russian policy in the Ukraine, but that these were made even stronger during the process of drafting, including after instructions were allegedly received from \u201cNew York.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>This is the real story according to Byron York:<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 60px;\"><strong>As it turns out, a look at the original draft of the platform \u2014 which has never been released publicly \u2014 shows that it always had tough language on Russian aggression in Ukraine. And not only did that language stay in the final platform \u2014 nothing was taken out \u2014 it was actually strengthened, not weakened, as a result of events at the convention.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 60px;\"><strong>\u2026<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 60px;\"><strong>Not long after the platform subcommittee meeting, the [Washington] Post\u2019s \u201cTrump campaign guts <a class=\"zem_slink\" title=\"Republican Party (United States)\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Republican_Party_%28United_States%29\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener wikipedia\">GOP<\/a>\u2019s anti-Russia stance on Ukraine\u201d story was published [<a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/opinions\/global-opinions\/trump-campaign-guts-gops-anti-russia-stance-on-ukraine\/2016\/07\/18\/98adb3b0-4cf3-11e6-a7d8-13d06b37f256_story.html?utm_term=.8a097e4dadc8\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">here<\/a>, in the opinion section], and a new conventional wisdom began to form: The Trump team, doing the bidding of <a class=\"zem_slink\" title=\"Vladimir Putin\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Vladimir_Putin\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener wikipedia\">Vladimir Putin<\/a>, gutted the GOP platform\u2019s position on behalf of Russia.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 60px;\"><strong>That is precisely the opposite of what happened. In the end, the platform, already fairly strong on the Russia-Ukraine issue, was strengthened, not weakened, as a result of the subcommittee meeting. The Trump campaign agreed to a platform condemning Kremlin belligerence, calling for continued, and perhaps increased, sanctions against Russia, for the full restoration of <a class=\"zem_slink\" title=\"Ukraine\" href=\"http:\/\/maps.google.com\/maps?ll=50.45,30.5&amp;spn=0.1,0.1&amp;q=50.45,30.5 (Ukraine)&amp;t=h\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"geolocation noopener\">Ukrainian territory<\/a>, for refusing to accept \u201cany territorial change in <a class=\"zem_slink\" title=\"Eastern Europe\" href=\"http:\/\/maps.google.com\/maps?ll=50.0,30.0&amp;spn=1.0,1.0&amp;q=50.0,30.0 (Eastern%20Europe)&amp;t=h\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"geolocation noopener\">Eastern Europe<\/a> imposed by force, in Ukraine or elsewhere,\u201d and pledging to aid Ukraine\u2019s armed forces.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The article at Breitbart concludes:<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><strong>It is odd that the Special Counsel, who presumably has access to the\u00a0<em>Washington Examiner<\/em> and the underlying facts and witnesses, would taint his inquiry by including a debunked conspiracy theory among the questions to be put to the president.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><strong>The fact that Mueller did so \u2014 assuming the\u00a0<em>Times<\/em> report is accurate \u2014 lends weight to claim that the investigation has become so partisan as to call its credibility into question.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>It truly is time for Mueller to pack his bags and go home.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Breitbart posted a story today about The New York Times&#8217; leak of the questions that Robert Mueller supposedly plans to ask President Trump.
