There are more Inspector General&#8217;s reports due out in the very near future. I would like to note that one theory on why we have Special Prosecutor Mueller is to distract from all the corruption that went on in the upper levels of the <a class=\"zem_slink\" title=\"Federal Bureau of Investigation\" href=\"http:\/\/maps.google.com\/maps?ll=38.895216,-77.025131&amp;spn=0.01,0.01&amp;q=38.895216,-77.025131 (Federal%20Bureau%20of%20Investigation)&amp;t=h\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"geolocation noopener\">Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI)<\/a> and <a class=\"zem_slink\" title=\"United States Department of Justice\" href=\"http:\/\/maps.google.com\/maps?ll=38.8933333333,-77.025&amp;spn=0.01,0.01&amp;q=38.8933333333,-77.025 (United%20States%20Department%20of%20Justice)&amp;t=h\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"geolocation noopener\">Department of Justice (DOJ)<\/a> during the Obama Administration. The activities continued with the understanding that <a class=\"zem_slink\" title=\"Hillary Clinton\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Hillary_Clinton\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener wikipedia\">Hillary Clinton<\/a> would be elected President, and no one would ever know about them. Unfortunately, if the Democrats succeed in taking control of Congress in November, these activities will be reburied (probably never to surface again). The time to drain the swamp is limited, and it may come to an end in November.<\/p>\n<p>The article lists the highlights of the report:<\/p>\n<div class=\"thepost post article-content\">\n<ul>\n<li><strong>The Department of Justice Inspector General released a report Friday claiming \u201clack of candor\u201d by former FBI deputy Director <a class=\"zem_slink\" title=\"Andrew McCabe\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Andrew_McCabe\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener wikipedia\">Andrew McCabe<\/a><\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>The report also details Justice Department\u2019s influence to close a multi-state investigation into the <a class=\"zem_slink\" title=\"Clinton Foundation\" href=\"http:\/\/www.clintonfoundation.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"homepage noopener\">Clinton Foundation<\/a><\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>The IG claims McCabe leaked DOJ\u2019s pressure to end the Clinton investigation to battle claims he was partial to the Clintons<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The article explains the attempted shutdown of the investigation into the Clinton Foundation:<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><strong>The inspector general (IG) confirmed in its long-awaited <a href=\"https:\/\/static01.nyt.com\/files\/2018\/us\/politics\/20180413a-doj-oig-mccabe-report.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">report<\/a> released Friday that in 2016 the FBI had ongoing field investigations of the Clinton Foundation in <a class=\"zem_slink\" title=\"New York\" href=\"http:\/\/maps.google.com\/maps?ll=43.0,-75.0&amp;spn=3.0,3.0&amp;q=43.0,-75.0 (New%20York)&amp;t=h\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"geolocation noopener\">New York<\/a>, <a class=\"zem_slink\" title=\"Los Angeles\" href=\"http:\/\/maps.google.com\/maps?ll=34.05,-118.25&amp;spn=0.1,0.1&amp;q=34.05,-118.25 (Los%20Angeles)&amp;t=h\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"geolocation noopener\">Los Angeles<\/a>, Little Rock, Arkansas and Washington, D.C. The multi-city investigation was launched when agents found \u201csuspicious activity\u201d between a foreign donor and Clinton Foundation activity in the Los Angeles area, as TheDCNF\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2016\/08\/11\/exclusive-joint-fbi-us-attorney-probe-of-clinton-foundation-is-underway\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">reported<\/a>\u00a0in August 2016.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><strong>The report, authored by Inspector General Michael E. Horowitz, an Obama appointee, chronicles the Justice Department\u2019s effort to to shut down the FBI\u2019s investigation on Aug. 12, 2016. The pressure allegedly came in the form of a phone call to McCabe from a Justice Department principal associate deputy attorney general (PADAG) who pressed McCabe on the continuing investigation. The IG did not identify which PADAG made the call.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><strong>It was important the pressure for ending the investigation was issued in a phone call and not in a written document, former FBI assistant Director Ronald Hosko told TheDCNF.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><strong>\u201cThey did it in a\u00a0phone call, which is maybe a little more difficult to serve up as evidence,\u201d he told TheDCNF in an interview.\u00a0Hosko said that by giving a verbal order, the Justice Department \u201cchose not to document it by design.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Other items of note detailed in the article:<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><strong>McCabe was worried about an Oct. 23, 2016 Wall Street Journal <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wsj.com\/articles\/clinton-ally-aids-campaign-of-fbi-officials-wife-1477266114\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">article<\/a>, which appeared to have damaged his reputation for impartiality because the journalist, Devlin Barrett, reported McCabe\u2019s wife received a campaign donation of nearly a half million dollars from Clinton friend and political ally <a class=\"zem_slink\" title=\"Terry McAuliffe\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Terry_McAuliffe\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener wikipedia\">Terry McAuliffe<\/a> for her run for a Virginia state seat.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The article concludes:<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><strong>McCabe\u2019s decision to leak the information about the FBI\u2019s probe of the foundation was not an attempt to be open and transparent, but to salvage his own reputation, according to the IG report.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><strong>\u201cHad McCabe\u2019s primary concern actually been to reassure the public that the FBI was pursuing the CF Investigation despite the anonymous claims in the article, the way that the FBI and the Department would usually accomplish that goal is through a public statement reassuring the public that the FBI is investigating the matter,\u201d the IG wrote. The IG stated his leak was \u201cdirected primarily at enhancing McCabe\u2019s reputation at the expense of PADAG.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><strong>\u201cMcCabe\u2019s disclosure was an attempt to make himself look good by making senior department leadership, specifically the Principal Associate Deputy Attorney General, look bad,\u201d the IG claimed.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><strong>The question is how much additional pressure did the Obama administration apply upon the FBI to end its investigation of the Clinton Foundation. The IG\u2019s report is silent on this point.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><strong>The IG is expected to shortly release other reports about potential FBI misconduct.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Stay tuned&#8211;there is much more to come.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Yesterday The Daily Caller posted an article about the Inspector General&#8216;s report that was released Friday.
