Arizona&#8217;s <a class=\"zem_slink\" title=\"Supreme Court of the United States\" href=\"http:\/\/maps.google.com\/maps?ll=38.8905555556,-77.0044444444&amp;spn=0.01,0.01&amp;q=38.8905555556,-77.0044444444 (Supreme%20Court%20of%20the%20United%20States)&amp;t=h\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"geolocation noopener\">Supreme Court<\/a> ruled that DACA recipients are no longer eligible for \u201cin-state\u201d tuition.<\/p>\n<p>The article reports:<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><strong>The <a class=\"zem_slink\" title=\"State's attorney\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/State%27s_attorney\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener wikipedia\">state\u2019s attorney<\/a> general <a class=\"zem_slink\" title=\"Mark Brnovich\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Mark_Brnovich\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener wikipedia\">Mark Brnovich<\/a> welcomed the ruling as his office has continually argued that colleges and universities were violating state and federal laws by allowing DACA recipients to pay <a class=\"zem_slink\" title=\"Tuition payments\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Tuition_payments\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener wikipedia\">in-state tuition<\/a> rates.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><strong>&#8220;While people can disagree what the law should be, I hope we all can agree that the attorney general must enforce the law as it is, not as we want it to be,&#8221; the statement said.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>In-state tuition at <a class=\"zem_slink\" title=\"Arizona State University\" href=\"http:\/\/maps.google.com\/maps?ll=33.417195,-111.936511&amp;spn=0.01,0.01&amp;q=33.417195,-111.936511 (Arizona%20State%20University)&amp;t=h\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"geolocation noopener\">Arizona State University<\/a> is $9,834 for the next school year. Non-resident tuition is $27,618. At <a class=\"zem_slink\" title=\"Maricopa County Community College District\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Maricopa_County_Community_College_District\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener wikipedia\">Maricopa Community Colleges<\/a>, residents pay $86 per credit. Non-residents pay $241 per credit.<\/p>\n<p>This decision makes sense to me&#8211;if DACA recipients are not actually citizens, how can they be considered <a class=\"zem_slink\" title=\"Residency (domicile)\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Residency_%28domicile%29\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener wikipedia\">legal residents<\/a> of a state? There is no reason for them to be given preferential treatment over <a class=\"zem_slink\" title=\"Citizenship of the United States\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Citizenship_of_the_United_States\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener wikipedia\">American citizens<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Townhall posted an article yesterday about a recent court decision in Arizona.
