The Daily Caller<\/a> posted an article yesterday detailing some of H.R. McMaster’s previous work.<\/p>\n The article reports:<\/p>\n Outgoing National Security Advisor Lt. Gen. H.R. McMaster served for more than a decade as a consultant to the London-based<\/a> International Institute for Strategic Studies<\/a>, a foreign-based think-tank that has received funding from hostile foreign governments to include Russia and China, according to a Daily Caller News Foundation investigation.<\/strong><\/p>\n …IISS operates offices in the Bahrain, Singapore and Washington, D.C. It generally reflects a globalist \u201crealist\u201d Eurocentric view of foreign and military postures that\u2019s at odds with Trump\u2019s foreign policy. The think-tank was a major advocate of former President Barack Obama<\/a>\u2019s nuclear deal with Iran<\/a>.<\/strong><\/p>\n IISS receives funding from friendly Western sources such as aerospace firms and even the British army, but is also has received funding from the Russian Federation<\/a>, China\u2019s Ministry of Foreign Affairs<\/a>, as well as the governments of Azerbaijan, Turkey, Qatar, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia and Bahrain, according<\/a> to the IISS website.<\/strong><\/p>\n During McMaster\u2019s time at IISS, the think tank also received $700,000<\/a> from George Soros\u2019s Open Society and $140,000 from Ploughshares, the pacifist organization that aggressively pushed<\/a> for Obama\u2019s Iran nuclear deal.<\/strong><\/p>\n The organization\u2019s council \u2014 its board of directors \u2014 also is filled with people who have ties to the Kremlin, to the Qatari emir who has been accused of supporting terrorists, to people associated with the Uranium One scandal, and with a Russian investment bank that paid former President Bill Clinton $500,000 for a single speech.<\/strong><\/p>\n The article includes a few comments from former military officers on the appointment of McMaster:<\/p>\n “This is bizarre,\u201d retired Army Lt. Gen. William \u201cJerry\u201d Boykin said in an interview with TheDCNF. \u201cIf that kind of information was available to The Trump administration before they selected him, the question is: Would they have selected him for this very job?\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n …Retired Rear Adm. James \u201cAce\u201d Lyons<\/a>, who served 35 years in the Navy, including a stint as commander of the Pacific Fleet, told TheDCNF McMaster\u2019s consulting role at the think tank was \u201cabsurd.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n \u201cIt is really absurd that an active duty military officer, particularly one of flag rank, is a consultant to a foreign organization that is taking money and contributions from questionable countries that are known enemies of the United States<\/a>,\u201d Lyons told TheDCNF in an interview. \u201cThis to me seems to be outside the bounds of what we\u2019re committed to. This is atrocious.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n \u201cI\u2019ve never seen this kind of thing before,\u201d said Boykin, a 36-year veteran who served as under secretary for defense intelligence for President George W. Bush<\/a>.<\/strong><\/p>\n Boykin said he was convinced any commanding officer would have rejected McMaster\u2019s proposed consulting work at IISS. \u201cI cannot believe that the ethics people of the U.S. Army would approve of him doing that, and I can\u2019t believe that any responsible person he worked for in the Army would have agreed to that.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n The article details some questionable activities of IISS and the secrecy surrounding its Bahrain conferences called the \u201cManama Dialogue.\u201d I suspect the removal of McMaster is another blow against the deep state and might have a very positive impact on ending some of the leaks coming from the White House.<\/p>\n \n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" National Security Advisor Lt.
