No, this isn’t about memos or Russians<\/a>. This is about the false alarm in Hawaii<\/a> that must have been extremely frightening to the residents and tourists.<\/p>\n

John Hinderaker<\/a> posted an article at Power Line<\/a> yesterday about the investigation into the incident.<\/p>\n

The article reports:<\/p>\n

The employee who sent the false missile alert in Hawaii, causing widespread panic and confusion, is refusing to cooperate with the investigation, a federal official said Thursday.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Lisa Fowlkes, public safety bureau chief for Federal Communications Commission (FCC)<\/a>, told senators in a hearing that she was generally pleased with the cooperation from officials in Hawaii, but that \u201cone key employee, the person who transmitted the false alert, is refusing to cooperate.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n

The article goes on:<\/p>\n

But Clairmont also suggested that the incident could be more than just a case of someone pressing the wrong button, telling the Star-Advertiser<\/a> that \u201cit\u2019s not as easy saying it was one person doing this.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n

A total of four people were on duty that Saturday morning<\/a>, he said, and the employee who sent the alert is both a 10-year veteran of the agency and \u201cvery well-trained and seasoned.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n

One really wonders what went on here. A person I know who was in Hawaii at the time said that she thought it was odd that the civil defense sirens<\/a> did not go off when the alert came over her cell phone.<\/p>\n

Stay tuned. If the results of this investigation are made public, they may be very interesting.<\/p>\n

The offending employee has not been identified. Here is a wild guess: the employee who \u201cpushed the wrong button\u201d is a fanatical anti-Trump Democrat<\/a> who believed that causing hysteria over a presumed North Korean<\/a> missile attack would somehow make the president look bad. If that guess is incorrect, maybe the anonymous employee should start cooperating with the investigation.<\/strong><\/p>\n
