Rush Limbaugh<\/a> said some very interesting (and true) things about Hawaii’s<\/a> false missile alert. I would like to share them here.<\/p>\n

This is part of the transcript<\/a> of what Rush Limbaugh said yesterday on his radio show:<\/p>\n

You know, I mentioned on this program countless times that one of \u2014 you know, we all have pet peeves. And one of my biggest pet peeves is arrogant condescension. People who know less than I do who think they know more than everybody else, and they\u2019re arrogant about it. And then they condescend, treat you like you\u2019re an idiot, treat you like you can\u2019t possibly know what you\u2019re talking about.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The second \u2014 and it\u2019s kind of related \u2014 the second pet peeve that I have is people insulting my intelligence, and it happens frequently. And we are in the midst of it right now with this explanation of what happened in Hawaii with the, \u201cOops, the guy hit the wrong button!\u201d And for 34 minutes, the people of Hawaii thought they were dead. Yeah, he hit the wrong button twice.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Have any of you \u2014 don\u2019t do this if you haven\u2019t \u2014 have any of you on your iPhone<\/a> ever had to erase the whole thing for whatever reason to start over? It\u2019s called settings, general, reset. And there are many different things you can reset. You can reset network settings, you can reset the whole damn thing, which means that you are going to erase everything on the phone. You have to confirm that a minimum of three times.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Apple will not let you do that accidentally.\u00a0 And it\u2019s an iPhone and there\u2019s not a single nuclear code on an iPhone.\u00a0 All there is is your personal data.\u00a0 All of your passwords, your settings, whatever is on the phone, if you have to erase it, which you can do, you will get three different alerts asking you if that\u2019s what you really intend to do, if you\u2019re really certain about it. And there are areas like this all over the iPhone.<\/strong><\/p>\n

There is a feature that hardly anybody knows about.\u00a0 It\u2019s well hidden.\u00a0 It happens to be one of my favorite features that Apple will not divulge anything about.\u00a0 It\u2019s called significant locations.\u00a0 I\u2019m not even gonna bother to tell you where it is.\u00a0 That\u2019s not the point.\u00a0 But you can clear the location history from your phone if you want to.\u00a0 Your phone records, where you\u2019ve been.\u00a0 I happen to think that\u2019s marvelous and magic and great and I love it.\u00a0 And I use it.\u00a0 Other people are paranoid about it.\u00a0 They think Tim Cook is spying on everything they do, just like Zuckerberg spying on every Facebook user and the Twitter<\/a> people \u2014 (laughing) it turns out the Twitter people are spying on you!\u00a0 O\u2019Keefe has yet another video from Project Veritas<\/a>.<\/strong><\/p>\n

They\u2019re collecting everything at Twitter on you, everything, including your photos.\u00a0 They\u2019re creating a sexual file of all of their users.\u00a0 They\u2019re creating a data file on everybody at Twitter, by their own admission.\u00a0 More details on that.\u00a0 Anyway, if you want to clear your location. Let\u2019s say you have effectively been made paranoid about your phone recording<\/a> where you\u2019ve been.\u00a0 And you find out about it, \u201cOh, no, I want to get rid of that.\u201d\u00a0 Okay.\u00a0 You go into significant locations, and you tap on \u201cclear history.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n

You will have to do it three times.\u00a0 You\u2019ll have to confirm that\u2019s what you want to do three times. Just like if you want to erase the whole phone, you\u2019ll have to confirm that three times.\u00a0\u201cAre you sure you want to?\u201d\u00a0 Yes.\u00a0 \u201cAre you really, really sure?\u00a0 This is gonna erase everything on your phone, and you can\u2019t go back and undo this.\u00a0 Are you sure you want to do it?\u201d\u00a0 You tap \u201cyes.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n

It comes back, \u201cDo you really know what you\u2019re doing here?\u00a0 Are you certain that you want to take this phone and make it like it\u2019s brand-new out of the box?\u201d\u00a0 And yet we\u2019re told that on a nuclear warning test, the guy hit the wrong button twice.\u00a0 We\u2019re now told the guy hasn\u2019t been fired.\u00a0 He\u2019s barely been reprimanded.\u00a0 We don\u2019t know his name.\u00a0 He\u2019s going to be reassigned.<\/strong><\/p>\n

…And we\u2019re told, \u201cAh, the guy hit the wrong button.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n

I just can\u2019t accept this, not within the context of everything that has gone on that has been originated in or perpetrated by the American left<\/a> and our administrative state. The Hawaii emergency management administrator, Vern Miyagi, reported one of his employees clicked the wrong button twice, said, \u201cIt\u2019s embarrassing, but again, it\u2019s a mistake.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n

Why hasn\u2019t it happened before? If it\u2019s this easy to make this kind of mistake, why hasn\u2019t it happened before? And why did it take 34 minutes to correct this mistake? People were living in abject fear, except for one guy who kept playing golf. I like that guy. He said (paraphrasing), \u201cEven if it\u2019s true, I\u2019m going out doing what I love. To hell with it. I\u2019m not hiding in some sewer drain.\u201d But that\u2019s what people were doing. They were hiding their kids everywhere they could. I mean, for 34 minutes the Hawaii emergency management administration allowed abject fear to percolate in the state of Hawaii.<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u201cVern Miyagi, the administrator, said, that he \u201cwas supposed to select the option for a drill. Instead, he chose the real thing twice. \u2018A missile may impact on land or sea within minutes. This is not a drill.’\u201d Grab audio sound bite number 17. Here is what it sounded like\u2026<\/strong><\/p>\n

VOICE: The U.S. Pacific Command<\/a> has detected a missile threat to Hawaii. A missile may impact on land or sea within minutes. This is not a drill. If you are indoors, say indoors. If you are outdoors, seek immediate shelter in a building. Remain indoors well away from windows. If you are driving, pull safely to the side of the road and seek shelter in a building or lay on the floor.<\/strong><\/p>\n

So let’s say the employee did this on purpose. Thank God America did not respond. The military would have known if there actually were missiles in the air, so they would have known the alert was a mistake. Did the military scramble? Did they know about the alert?<\/p>\n

For the sake of argument, let’s say that the person who pushed the button thought that if he could get a dangerous response out of President<\/a> Trump<\/a>, President Trump could be declared unfit for office. Having watched the media for the past year, I am convinced that there are some people out there who would put the safety of America at risk to bring down President Trump. The irrational hatred of President Trump is totally amazing. Was this person willing to start World War III<\/a> in order to prevent President Trump from succeeding? I don’t know. I do know that Microsoft Word won’t even let me close down its window without telling me that I am going to lose what I have typed.
