He has been searching for a year, and so far has charged two people formerly associated with the <a class=\"zem_slink\" title=\"Trump\" href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/Trump-Donald-J\/dp\/0609000683%3FSubscriptionId%3D0G81C5DAZ03ZR9WH9X82%26tag%3Dzem-20%26linkCode%3Dxm2%26camp%3D2025%26creative%3D165953%26creativeASIN%3D0609000683\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"amazon noopener\">Trump<\/a> Administration with crimes unrelated to the purpose of his investigation. It seems as if he is using his unlimited budget to follow rabbit trails. Now there is a new controversy about some of those rabbit trails.<\/p>\n<p>Yesterday <a href=\"https:\/\/townhall.com\/tipsheet\/timothymeads\/2017\/12\/16\/mueller--has-thousands-of-trump-transition-team-emails-n2423547\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Townhall<\/a> posted an article about some recent problems with the Mueller investigation.<\/p>\n<p>The article reports:<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><strong>According to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.axios.com\/scoop-mueller-obtains-tens-of-thousands-of-trump-transition-emails-2517994590.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Axios<\/a>, special counsel Robert Mueller has confiscated thousands of e-mails and communications from <a class=\"zem_slink\" title=\"President of the United States\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/President_of_the_United_States\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener wikipedia\">President<\/a> <a class=\"zem_slink\" title=\"Donald Trump\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Donald_Trump\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener wikipedia\">Donald J. Trump<\/a>\u2019s transition team, including from notable figures such as <a class=\"zem_slink\" title=\"Jared Kushner\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Jared_Kushner\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener wikipedia\">Jared Kushner<\/a> and other high profile aides.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 60px;\"><strong>&#8220;Trump officials discovered Mueller had the emails when his prosecutors used them as the basis for questions to witnesses, the sources said.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 60px;\"><strong>The emails include 12 accounts, one of which contains about 7,000 emails, the sources said.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 60px;\"><strong>The accounts include the team&#8217;s political leadership and the foreign-policy team, the sources said.&#8221;<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><strong>These e-mails supposedly all occurred <em>after<\/em>\u00a0 the <a class=\"zem_slink\" title=\"United States presidential election, 2016\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/United_States_presidential_election%2C_2016\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener wikipedia\">2016 presidential election<\/a>. Mueller\u2019s investigation is explicitly to determine if there was any Russian interference <em>before<\/em> the election that could have rigged the results for Donald Trump. But, according to Axios\u2019 source \u201cMueller is using the emails to confirm things, and get new leads.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>If these are the emails of the transition team, they have nothing to do with events before the election&#8211;they are the records of the new administration organizing its policies. They are subject to executive privilege and to the Fourth Amendment. It sounds as if neither was honored.<\/p>\n<p>The article concludes:<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><strong>As<a href=\"http:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/politics\/2017\/12\/16\/trump-lawyer-mueller-improperly-obtained-transition-documents-in-russia-probe.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">\u00a0Fox News<\/a> notes, Langhofer says that Mueller&#8217;s team gained access to the e-mails via the General Services Administration. The Transition team was using the GSA&#8217;s office space and e-mails severs. Trump&#8217;s attorneys say that in doing so, Mueller may have violated the 4th amendment by asking the GSA for e-mails which were supposed to be private and secure.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.usnews.com\/news\/top-news\/articles\/2017-12-16\/trump-allies-say-mueller-unlawfully-obtained-thousands-of-emails\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">According to Reuters,<\/a> the letter says \u201ccareer staff members at the agency unlawfully produced TFA\u2019s private materials, including privileged communications, to the Special Counsel\u2019s Office.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Stay tuned.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>If we think back to recent (a year) history, Robert Mueller was appointed as a special prosecutor to investigate whether or not there was Russian interference in the 2016 election.
