{"id":3188,"date":"2011-07-21T14:22:37","date_gmt":"2011-07-21T14:22:37","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.rightwinggranny.com\/?p=3188"},"modified":"2011-07-21T14:22:37","modified_gmt":"2011-07-21T14:22:37","slug":"a_little_fuel_for_the_fire","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.rightwinggranny.com\/?p=3188","title":{"rendered":"A Little Fuel For The Fire"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Yesterday Ed Morrissey at <a href=\"http:\/\/hotair.com\/archives\/2011\/07\/20\/more-federal-workers-involuntarily-leave-jobs-horizontally-than-vertically\/\">Hot Air<\/a> posted an article about the departure statistics of federal employees.&nbsp; It seems that the way the majority of federal employees leave their jobs is through death.&nbsp; <\/p>\n<p>The article points out:<\/p>\n<blockquote style=\"MARGIN-RIGHT: 0px\" dir=\"ltr\">\n<p><em>&#8220;The federal government fired 0.55% of its workers in the budget year that ended Sept. 30 &#8212; 11,668 employees in its 2.1 million workforce. Research shows that the private sector fires about 3% of workers annually for poor performance, says John Palguta, former research chief at the federal Merit Systems Protection Board, which handles federal firing disputes.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>&#8220;The 1,800-employee Federal Communications Commission and the 1,200-employee Federal Trade Commission didn&#8217;t lay off or fire a single employee last year. The SBA had no layoffs, six firings and 17 deaths in its 4,000-employee workforce.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>&#8220;When job security is at a premium, the federal government remains the place to work for those who want to avoid losing a job.
