{"id":3167,"date":"2011-07-12T14:13:00","date_gmt":"2011-07-12T14:13:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.rightwinggranny.com\/?p=3167"},"modified":"2011-07-12T14:13:00","modified_gmt":"2011-07-12T14:13:00","slug":"the_hand_revealed","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.rightwinggranny.com\/?p=3167","title":{"rendered":"The Hand Revealed"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.cbsnews.com\/8301-503544_162-20078789-503544.html\">CBS News<\/a>&nbsp;posted a story today with the headline, &#8220;Obama says he cannot guarantee Social Security checks will go out on August 3.&#8221;&nbsp; He is, of course, talking about what will happen if the Democrats and Republicans do not reach agreement on raising the debt ceiling.<\/p>\n<p>Some thoughts&#8211;you mean Social Security checks are paid out of the deficit?&nbsp; What happens to all the money collected in taxes for Social Security?&nbsp; Isn&#8217;t there more money being paid in every week when people get paid?&nbsp; So how could the debt ceiling be a problem for Social Security?<\/p>\n<p>The article reports:<\/p>\n<blockquote style=\"MARGIN-RIGHT: 0px\" dir=\"ltr\">\n<p><em>&#8220;Mr. Obama told Pelley (<\/em>CBS Evening News anchor Scott Pelley) <em>&#8220;this is not just a matter of Social Security checks. These are veterans checks, these are folks on disability and their checks.
