This is a religious litmus test. This is not anything new. During the 1960&#8217;s, there was a lot of reporting about the fact that John Kennedy was Catholic when he was running for President. He was elected in spite of that. We need to remember that the roots of our judicial system are <a class=\"zem_slink\" title=\"Judeo-Christian\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Judeo-Christian\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"wikipedia noopener\">Judeo-Christian<\/a>. The people who founded and supported this nation in the early days of the republic were Christians and Jews. In the early days of America, weekly church services were held in the <a class=\"zem_slink\" title=\"United States Capitol\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/United_States_Capitol\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"wikipedia noopener\">Capitol building<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The <a class=\"zem_slink\" title=\"United States Declaration of Independence\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/United_States_Declaration_of_Independence\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"wikipedia noopener\">Declaration of Independence<\/a> states:<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><strong>We hold these truths to be self-evident, that <a class=\"zem_slink\" title=\"All men are created equal\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/All_men_are_created_equal\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"wikipedia noopener\">all men are created equal<\/a>, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain <a class=\"zem_slink\" title=\"Natural and legal rights\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Natural_and_legal_rights\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"wikipedia noopener\">unalienable Rights<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Questioning a judicial nominee on her religious beliefs is totally inappropriate and not in alignment with the founding documents of America.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Article VI, Section 3 of the U.S. Constitution states: &#8230;but no religious test shall ever be required as a qualification to any office or public trust under the United States.
