In 2017, the Trump payroll amounts to $35.8 million for 377 employees, while the Obama payroll amounted to $40.9 million for 476 employees (FY2015).<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Nineteen\u00a0fewer staffers are dedicated to The First Lady of the United States (<a class=\"zem_slink\" title=\"First Lady of the United States\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/First_Lady_of_the_United_States\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"wikipedia noopener\">FLOTUS<\/a>). Currently, there are five\u00a0staffers dedicated to <a class=\"zem_slink\" title=\"Melania Trump\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Melania_Trump\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"wikipedia noopener\">Melania Trump<\/a> vs. 24 staffers who <a href=\"http:\/\/www.factcheck.org\/2009\/08\/michelle-obamas-staff\/\">served<\/a> Michelle Obama (FY2009).<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Counts of the \u201cAssistants to the President\u201d \u2013 the most trusted advisors to the president &#8211; are the same (22) in both first-year Trump and Obama administrations. In the Trump White House, Steven Bannon, <a class=\"zem_slink\" title=\"Kellyanne Conway\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Kellyanne_Conway\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"wikipedia noopener\">Kellyanne Conway<\/a>, <a class=\"zem_slink\" title=\"Omarosa\" href=\"http:\/\/www.omarosa.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"homepage noopener\">Omarosa Manigault<\/a>, <a class=\"zem_slink\" title=\"Reince Priebus\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Reince_Priebus\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"wikipedia noopener\">Reince Priebus<\/a>, Sean Spicer and 17 others make salaries of $179,700. In Obama\u2019s first-year, David Axelrod, Rahm Emanuel and twenty others held the title with top pay of $172,000.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>The highest compensated White House Trump staffer? Mark House, Senior Policy Advisor, has a salary of $187,500. Mr. House is \u201con detail\u201d from a federal agency which allows him to exceed the top pay-grade of $179,700.
