A class-action suit<\/a> was\u00a0filed in U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida<\/a> in October by residents of 45 states against both the committee and Wasserman Schultz<\/a> for \u201cintentional, willful, wanton, and malicious\u201d conduct in violating\u00a0Article 5, Section 4 of the DNC Charter.<\/strong><\/p>\n

They \u00a0represent three classes of plaintiffs: donors to the DNC, donors to the Bernie Sanders campaign<\/a>, and all registered Democrats<\/a> \u2014 and they want their money back.<\/strong><\/p>\n

On April 25, the court\u00a0held a hearing on a motion to dismiss, with the DNC\u2019s lawyers arguing that the party has every right to pick candidates in back rooms.<\/strong><\/p>\n
