On Sunday, Breitbart<\/a> posted an article about California State Senate<\/a> President Pro Tem<\/a> Kevin De Leon.<\/p>\n

The article reports:<\/p>\n

California State Senate President Pro Tem Kevin De L\u00e9on (D-Los Angeles<\/a>) said\u00a0last Tuesday that\u00a0\u201chalf his family\u201d\u00a0was in the country illegally, using false documents, and eligible for deportation under President Trump\u2019s new executive order<\/a> against \u201csanctuary\u201d jurisdictions.<\/h2>\n

De L\u00e9on, who introduced the bill,\u00a0made his remarks at a hearing in Sacramento<\/a> on SB54<\/a>, the bill to\u00a0make California a \u201cSanctuary State.<\/a>\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n

…Testifying\u00a0before the Senate Public Safety Committee<\/a>, De L\u00e9on defended the widespread practice by illegal aliens of using fraudulent documents to work and obtain taxpayer-paid benefits, dismissing any concerns California citizens may have about being the target of identity theft.<\/strong><\/p>\n

In an interview the following day on\u00a0KPCC 89.3\u2019s Air Talk with Larry Mantle<\/a>, De L\u00e9on expressed outrage that President Trump\u2019s executive order would include those who possess fraudulent documents or committed identity theft to obtain a Social Security number.<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u201cSomeone simply who received or purchased a [fraudulent] Social Security card<\/a> down at McArthur Park<\/a>, or elsewhere in my district would be eligible immediately for mass deportation,\u201d De L\u00e9on said (at 11:45 in the link above).<\/strong><\/p>\n

Senator De Leon was interviewed by Larry Mantle, a talk show host after making the above statements.<\/p>\n

Senator De Leon further explained:<\/p>\n

Host Larry Mantle asked him: \u201c\u2026 First of all, I just \u2014 I want to make sure I understand correctly: You don\u2019t think purchasing a phony Social Security card and number should be a deportable offense?\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n

De L\u00e9on replied:\u00a0\u201cI don\u2019t think so \u2026\u00a0the vast majority of immigrants \u2014 hard working immigrants \u2014 have done that.\u00a0 I can tell you I have family members specifically who came here as undocumented immigrants, and they did the same thing.\u00a0That\u2019s what you need to do to survive in this economy.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n

Mantle objected:\u00a0\u201cBut of course the problem is, \u2014 and I know people too \u2014 who\u2019ve had their Social Security numbers and identities stolen as a result of that\u2026.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n

De L\u00e9on minimized the problem, saying it was not the same as \u201cRussian\u201d hacking.<\/strong><\/p>\n

So it’s okay to steal someone’s Social Security number if you are here illegally. Wow. That is the leadership in the California legislature. Just wow.<\/p>\n
