The DC Caller<\/a> posted an article today about the attack on students at Ohio State University<\/a> this morning. The attacker was Abdul Razak Ali Artan, a Somali<\/a> refugee who came to America<\/a> (after fleeing to Pakistan<\/a> from Somalia<\/a> in 2007) in 2014. As a refugee, he was granted legal permanent status. This morning he drove a car into a group of people and exited the car, attacking people with a knife. He was killed by a police officer during his attack.<\/p>\n

Furthermore, \u201cThe Lantern\u201d \u2014 OSU\u2019s campus newspaper<\/a> \u2014 ran an interview\u00a0with Artan just a few months ago<\/a>,\u00a0in which he criticized the school for not having Muslim prayer<\/a> rooms on campus.<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u201cI wanted to pray in the open, but I was kind of scared with everything going on in the media,\u201d he stated. \u201cI\u2019m a Muslim<\/a>, it\u2019s not what the media portrays me to be.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u201cI don\u2019t blame them,\u201d he cotinued. \u201cIt\u2019s the media that put that picture in their heads so they\u2019re just going to have it, and it\u2019s going to make them feel uncomfortable.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n
