Yesterday’s election did not go as many pundits expected. In North Carolina<\/a>, there were some mixed results. There are also some questions about some of the results.<\/p>\n

The Daily Haymaker<\/a> posted an article today about some voter irregularities in Durham County, North Carolina<\/a>. Yesterday I posted an article <\/a>about the money poured into North Carolina by George Soros<\/a> in order to prevent the voter ID law<\/a> from being in place during the 2016 general election<\/a>. We are probably seeing the results of that effort reflected in what happened in Durham County.<\/p>\n

The Daily Haymaker reports:<\/p>\n

Yesterday, Durham county had some \u201ctechnical\u201d glitches and got a court order extending voting hours. \u00a0They also \u2013*Surprise!* \u2014 discovered 90,000 votes that had not been counted from early voting.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Holy Al Franken<\/a>! (Yes, we\u2019re citing the comedian turned US senator<\/a> who won his seat mainly due to trunkloads of uncounted ballots mysteriously showing up after the polls closed.)<\/strong><\/p>\n

After all of that got added to the mix, a roughly 40,000 vote lead for Pat McCrory<\/a> in the governor\u2019s race turned into a 5000 vote lead for Roy Cooper<\/a>. \u00a0Chuck Stuber\u2019s lead in the auditor\u2019s race turned into a 3000 vote deficit. \u00a0And Buck Newton<\/a>\u2019s 40,000 vote lead in the attorney general\u2019s race turned into a 19,000 vote deficit.<\/strong><\/p>\n

You want all legitimately-cast votes counted. \u00a0But last-minute stuff like this tars the integrity of an election a lot like a last-second foul or penalty call spoils the integrity of a sporting event\u2019s final score.<\/strong><\/p>\n
