{"id":29521,"date":"2016-10-25T19:57:25","date_gmt":"2016-10-25T23:57:25","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.rightwinggranny.com\/?p=29521"},"modified":"2016-10-25T19:57:25","modified_gmt":"2016-10-25T23:57:25","slug":"when-you-vote-make-sure-the-machine-gets-it-right","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.rightwinggranny.com\/?p=29521","title":{"rendered":"When You Vote, Make Sure The Machine Gets It Right"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>There are numerous stories floating around the <a class=\"zem_slink\" title=\"Internet\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Internet\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"wikipedia\">Internet<\/a> today about <a class=\"zem_slink\" title=\"Voting machine\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Voting_machine\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"wikipedia\">voting machines<\/a> changing the votes of the people voting. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/texas\/2016\/10\/25\/texas-county-switches-paper-ballots-software-glitch\/\" target=\"_blank\">Breitbart<\/a> posted a story today about a <a class=\"zem_slink\" title=\"Texas\" href=\"http:\/\/maps.google.com\/maps?ll=31.0,-100.0&amp;spn=10.0,10.0&amp;q=31.0,-100.0 (Texas)&amp;t=h\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"geolocation\">Texas<\/a> county that has switched to paper <a class=\"zem_slink\" title=\"Ballot\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Ballot\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"wikipedia\">ballots<\/a> until they get their voting machines re calibrated.<\/p>\n<p>The article reports:<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><strong>Chambers <a class=\"zem_slink\" title=\"Clerk (municipal official)\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Clerk_%28municipal_official%29\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"wikipedia\">County Clerk<\/a> Heather Hawthorne told Breitbart Texas Tuesday morning that all electronic voting was temporarily halted until her office completes a \u201csoftware update\u201d on <a class=\"zem_slink\" title=\"Election Systems &amp; Software\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Election_Systems_%26_Software\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"wikipedia\">ES&amp;S<\/a> machines that otherwise \u201comit one race\u201d when a <a class=\"zem_slink\" title=\"Straight-ticket voting\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Straight-ticket_voting\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"wikipedia\">straight ticket<\/a> option is selected for either <a class=\"zem_slink\" title=\"Major party\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Major_party\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"wikipedia\">major party<\/a>. The Texas 14<sup>th<\/sup> Court of Appeals race was reported to be the contest in which <a class=\"zem_slink\" title=\"Voting\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Voting\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"wikipedia\">voters<\/a> commonly experienced the glitch.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><strong>Hawthorne explained that she expects the technical difficulties to be completely addressed by end of business Tuesday. In the interim, regular paper ballots will be used. The county clerk told Breitbart Texas that before the machines were pulled, poll workers were instructed to alert voters to the glitch and double-check their selections.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>There have been reports of similar incidents in other states also.
