I am not making this up.<\/p>\n<p>The article reports:<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><strong>California\u2019s Legislature has approved regulations on cow flatulence and manure \u2013 both blamed for releasing greenhouse gases.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><strong>The measure was approved shortly before the end of the legislative session Wednesday after its author, Democratic Senator <a class=\"zem_slink\" title=\"Ricardo Lara\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Ricardo_Lara\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"wikipedia\">Ricardo Lara<\/a> of Bell <span class=\"vm-hook-outer vm-hook-default\"><span class=\"vm-hook\">Gardens<\/span><\/span>, agreed to give dairy farms more time to comply.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>In 2014, <a href=\"http:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2014\/03\/28\/white-house-looks-to-regulate-cow-flatulence-as-part-of-climate-agenda\/#ixzz2xYt8tSmG\" target=\"_blank\">The Daily Caller<\/a> reported:<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><strong>As part of its plan to reduce U.S. <a class=\"zem_slink\" title=\"Greenhouse gas\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Greenhouse_gas\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"wikipedia\">greenhouse gas emissions<\/a>, the Obama administration is targeting the <a class=\"zem_slink\" title=\"Dairy\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Dairy\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"wikipedia\">dairy industry<\/a> to reduce methane emissions in their operations.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><strong>This comes despite falling methane emission levels across the economy since 1990.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.whitehouse.gov\/the-press-office\/2014\/03\/28\/fact-sheet-climate-action-plan-strategy-cut-methane-emissions\">The White House has proposed<\/a> cutting methane emissions from the dairy industry by 25 percent by 2020. Although U.S. agriculture only accounts for about 9 percent of the country\u2019s greenhouse gas emissions, according to the <a class=\"zem_slink\" title=\"United States Environmental Protection Agency\" href=\"http:\/\/www.epa.gov\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"homepage\">Environmental Protection Agency<\/a>, it makes up a sizeable portion of methane emissions \u2014 which is a very potent greenhouse gas.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><strong>Some of these methane emissions come from cow flatulence, exhaling and belching \u2014 other livestock animals release methane as well.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>I suspect that there may be some wives out there reading this that want to find a way to apply this law to their husbands.
