There have been instances of voting machines incorrectly registering votes, and there are examples of people voting multiple times under various names. <a class=\"zem_slink\" title=\"Voter ID laws\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Voter_ID_laws\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"wikipedia\">Voter ID laws<\/a> are an attempt to solve at least part of the problem.<\/p>\n<p>A few days ago I posted the following chart. I am reposting it just as a reminder of where we are:<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.rightwinggranny.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/08\/voterid.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-28945\" src=\"https:\/\/www.rightwinggranny.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/08\/voterid.png\" alt=\"voterid\" width=\"509\" height=\"481\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.rightwinggranny.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/08\/voterid.png 509w, https:\/\/www.rightwinggranny.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/08\/voterid-300x283.png 300w, https:\/\/www.rightwinggranny.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/08\/voterid-317x300.png 317w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 509px) 100vw, 509px\" \/><\/a>Several states have passed voter identification laws, and lawsuits have followed. Texas, at least, is sticking to its guns.<\/p>\n<p>On Wednesday <a href=\"http:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/texas\/2016\/08\/03\/breaking-texas-voter-id-law-will-enforced-november\/\" target=\"_blank\">Breitbart.com<\/a> reported:<\/p>\n<h2 style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><strong>An agreement between the <a class=\"zem_slink\" title=\"Texas\" href=\"http:\/\/maps.google.com\/maps?ll=31.0,-100.0&amp;spn=10.0,10.0&amp;q=31.0,-100.0 (Texas)&amp;t=h\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"geolocation\">State of Texas<\/a> and groups that attempted to strike down the state\u2019s photo voter identification law came to an agreement Wednesday that will keep the election integrity policy largely in place for the November elections and thereafter.<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><strong>Under the deal, voters with valid forms of <a class=\"zem_slink\" title=\"Photo identification\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Photo_identification\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"wikipedia\">photo ID<\/a> or ones \u201cexpired by no more than four years\u201d will be allowed to vote a regular ballot, according to court documents obtained by Breitbart Texas. In trade, individuals presenting a valid \u201c<a class=\"zem_slink\" title=\"Voter registration\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Voter_registration\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"wikipedia\">voter registration<\/a> certificate, certified birth certificate, a current utility bill, a bank statement, a government check, a paycheck, or any other government document that displays the voter\u2019s name and an address and complete and sign a reasonable impediment declaration shall be permitted\u201d to vote a regular ballot as well.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>As I <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rightwinggranny.com\/?m=201009\" target=\"_blank\">reported<\/a> in September 2010, an organization called <a class=\"zem_slink\" title=\"True the Vote\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/True_the_Vote\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"wikipedia\">True the Vote<\/a> investigated voter fraud in <a class=\"zem_slink\" title=\"Houston\" href=\"http:\/\/maps.google.com\/maps?ll=29.7627777778,-95.3830555556&amp;spn=0.1,0.1&amp;q=29.7627777778,-95.3830555556 (Houston)&amp;t=h\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"geolocation\">Houston, Texas<\/a>. This is what they found:<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><strong>\u201cVacant lots had several voters registered on them. An eight-bed halfway house had more than 40 voters registered at its address,\u201d Engelbrecht said. \u201cWe then decided to look at who was registering the voters.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><strong>\u201cTheir work paid off. Two weeks ago the <a class=\"zem_slink\" title=\"Harris County, Texas\" href=\"http:\/\/maps.google.com\/maps?ll=29.86,-95.39&amp;spn=1.0,1.0&amp;q=29.86,-95.39 (Harris%20County%2C%20Texas)&amp;t=h\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"geolocation\">Harris County<\/a> voter registrar took their work and the findings of his own investigation and handed them over to both the <a class=\"zem_slink\" title=\"Secretary of State of Texas\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Secretary_of_State_of_Texas\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"wikipedia\">Texas secretary of state<\/a>\u2019s office and the Harris County district attorney.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><strong>\u201cMost of the findings focused on a group called Houston Votes, a voter registration group headed by Sean Caddle, who formerly worked for the <a class=\"zem_slink\" title=\"Service Employees International Union\" href=\"http:\/\/www.seiu.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"homepage\">Service Employees International Union<\/a>. Among the findings were that only 1,793 of the 25,000 registrations the group submitted appeared to be valid. The other registrations included one of a woman who registered six times in the same day; registrations of non-citizens; so many applications from one Houston Voters collector in one day that it was deemed to be beyond human capability; and 1,597 registrations that named the same person multiple times, often with different signatures.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>North Carolina is currently involved in a lawsuit against its voter identification laws&#8211;despite the fact that voter turnout was up when the laws went into effect in March.
