{"id":28238,"date":"2016-05-10T14:00:31","date_gmt":"2016-05-10T18:00:31","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.rightwinggranny.com\/?p=28238"},"modified":"2016-05-10T14:00:31","modified_gmt":"2016-05-10T18:00:31","slug":"im-grateful-for-the-outcome-the-court-case-makes-me-crazy","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.rightwinggranny.com\/?p=28238","title":{"rendered":"I&#8217;m Grateful For The Outcome, The Court Case Makes Me Crazy"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.wcvb.com\/politics\/under-god-in-pledge-of-allegiance-not-unconstitutional-in-mass\/25896136?utm_source=hootsuite&amp;utm_medium=facebook&amp;utm_campaign=wcvb%2Bchannel%2B5%2Bboston\" target=\"_blank\">WCVB<\/a> in <a class=\"zem_slink\" title=\"Boston\" href=\"http:\/\/maps.google.com\/maps?ll=42.3580555556,-71.0636111111&amp;spn=0.1,0.1&amp;q=42.3580555556,-71.0636111111 (Boston)&amp;t=h\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"geolocation\">Boston<\/a> reported yesterday that the <a class=\"zem_slink\" title=\"Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court\" href=\"http:\/\/maps.google.com\/maps?ll=42.359297,-71.060954&amp;spn=0.01,0.01&amp;q=42.359297,-71.060954 (Massachusetts%20Supreme%20Judicial%20Court)&amp;t=h\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"geolocation\">Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court<\/a> ruled Friday that saying the pledge of allegiance every day in public school, including the words &#8220;<a class=\"zem_slink\" title=\"Pledge of Allegiance\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Pledge_of_Allegiance\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"wikipedia\">under God<\/a>,&#8221; does not violate the <a class=\"zem_slink\" title=\"Massachusetts\" href=\"http:\/\/maps.google.com\/maps?ll=42.3,-71.8&amp;spn=3.0,3.0&amp;q=42.3,-71.8 (Massachusetts)&amp;t=h\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"geolocation\">Massachusetts<\/a> Constitution or discriminate against <a class=\"zem_slink\" title=\"Atheism\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Atheism\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"wikipedia\">atheists<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>In 2010 an atheist family in Acton, Massachusetts, <a class=\"zem_slink\" title=\"Lawsuit\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Lawsuit\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"wikipedia\">sued<\/a>, claiming that the daily recitation of the pledge in classrooms violated their three children&#8217;s <a class=\"zem_slink\" title=\"Constitutional right\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Constitutional_right\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"wikipedia\">constitutional rights<\/a>. The family, who are not identified in the suit, said the ruling insinuates that nonbelievers are less patriotic.<\/p>\n<p>The article reports:<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><strong>In its ruling the court took pains to make clear that reciting the pledge is voluntary, &#8221; No Massachusetts school student is required by law to recite the pledge or to participate in the ceremony of which the pledge is a part.
